SOURCE: 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee...Blowing ASD fuse

My daughters jeep had the same problem. We fixed by finding the wires that run beside the manifold down under the car. The conduit that have the wires in it was worn away because of resting up against the manifold, causing the wires to short the system out. Once I replaced the conduit and taped the wires it has not shorted out again. By the way, the Jeep dealer couldn't find the problem.

SOURCE: main engine control fuse blows out

One thing missing when running at idle is road vibration. Try a wiggle test on wiring to see if there is a short to ground anywhere. Only thing I really hate when doing this is that I have had problems like this disappear after doing test and not re-appear for a year or two, because the wires got moved enough to keep the bad wire off of where it had grounded.

SOURCE: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Keeps stalling, engine

P0505 means the whole Idle Control system, not only the IAM. Check all related sensors (i.e. crankshaft sensor). Check with a voltmeter direct at the connector of the IAM if you get any signal. Remove the IAM from the TB, connect him, let someone switch your ignition key to ON. The IAM need to drive in/out for a short time to find the right position. Hold the IAM near a hard part, that they cant drive out completely! If IAM works fine, check the fuel pressure, check and clean your TB ( if not done yet). If that doesn't work, come back again please

I wanted to know what fuse 8 in the 1995 jeep grand cherokee controls?

We assuming that you are talking about Fuse Block Compartment (inside the car) and the Fuse 8 15AMP work for Fused Battery-Memory Circuits

Additional details could fin in the Jeep-ZJ-Secc-8W-Wiring-Diagrams; keep in mind that you have a nice SUV, I have the same but '93 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L V8.

Good luck.

Blowing engine control fuse on 94 grand cherokee

You might have a wire from the engine control circuit that has rubbed through on the engine block somewhere. Do a visual inspection of the engine wiring, and look closely for any damaged insulation. I have seen a problem like this before. Good Luck!

Blowing fuses jeep wont start

use a circuit breaker or paper clip with pliers so you do not burn yourself use paper clip as fuse unplug engine controll sensors 1 at a time and check if problem is gone after each one is unplugged an engine controll sensor is most likely shorting out if you have a map sensor try that first then move on to other components tps, fuel pump ect. till you find wich is fauly causeing short this should help you just be carefull with paperclip am saying to do this instead of blowing expensive fuses

1995 jeep grand cherokee wont start

IF THE FUSE BLOWS IMMEDIATELY, THE VEHICLE HAS A SHORT IN THAT CIRCUIT. CAR WON'T RUN WITH A SHORTED ECM. CHECK THE WIRING FIRST FOR A BARE OR PINCHED WIRE.

You have a large wire that powers the ECM, it has rubbed through and is grounding out and blowing the fuse, locate the power source for the fuse under the hood, then look for damaged wiring, check places were the wires touches the body, it will not be easy, it takes time and a keen eye.
