No... the dash does not need to come out.... just the vertical console... snaps in. There are two screws at the bottom of the console behind the ash tray - remove them. The console is now free to be popped out.

How to replace blower motor switch

In older cars the switch is often located in a logicon unit in the dash board. Replacing the blower motor switch may require replacing the whole logicon unit. Remove and inspect it to find out.

On newer cars the switch is more likely a small relay that is activated by a digital console, and may be located on the blower motor itself.

How do you replace the fan blower switch

Remove all screws, if any, around the radio and a/c controls. Carefully pry the bezel around the radio with a pry tool. Try not to use flat tip screw driver or you may put marks on your dash. The whole bezel will unsnap. A/c switch should be exposed with screws holding it. Remove screws

I have a 2002 protege a/c wont work on all blower speeds and my friends 2000 blower will only work on 2 settings

Replace fan switch in dash.Or may even just need connections cleaned with some wd/40. To replace switch you need to remove dash and knob's, Then you have a switch that has the wires from fan to connector. . If these are ok and clean you need to replace your blower motor, Best of luck to you.

Heater and air conditioner blower switch.

Check the resistor first. It may be bad. Should be under pass. side of the dash close to blower motor mounted in bottom of evap case. Remove it and try known good one first before going at the switch. If it works on high then the switch may be okay. Good luck.

Tap on the blower motor with a small hammer with the switch on. If it starts to work again, you need a new motor. If not, you most likely need a blower motor resistor.

Vent fan only works when set to 4

Hi.....
On your Vehicle the problem for the FAN speed is NOT the FAN switch.
99.9 % of this problem on cars is the BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR.
The blower motor resistor give the speed to the Fan.
But on High speed the switch make a By pass of the switch using a Relay for the high speed.
The Blower motor resistor, is located Beside of the Blower motor On the passanger compartment.

If you replace the blower motor resistor you have 99.9% of this will solve your problem.

I'm a Mechanic.

I hope this help on your problem.
Thank you for use fixya...
