SOURCE: 1998 chevy K1500 timing runs ok for 10 miles then loses all pwr

1-timing on truck is ajusted by ecm, when u moved it u cause cam sensor code because it detected timing was off! 2-o2 sensors has the role of detecting air to fuel ratio coming out of exhaust, sends signal to ecm wich collects data from other sensors from that sets timing for best performance,if ecm detects something wrong in system data it will give engine code, that code will point at problem area,in your case o2 sensors probably detected lean fuel ratio that points to fuel system, blocked fuel filter or fuel pump faillure, elect, circuit damage, hope it helped!

SOURCE: 1999 Cadillac Catera - 103,000 miles - cranks but no fire

Hello carol...from the symptons you describe more than likely it's the CPS (crankshaft position sensor.)
The CPS is a common problem on Cateras with these symptoms.
The sensor is a magnetic impulse type that sends a signal to the computer, the computer then triggers the fire signal. When the CPS gets weak, dirty or has low voltage the intermitten no starts occur. It will finally result in a no start at all...Please be aware that a lot of caddy dealers will and have overcharged customers for this common problem by ill advise and replaceing uneeded componets.
Good luck...i hope this helps and will fixya up.

SOURCE: I have a 2002 caravan 3.3L engine light came on

the most propable cause is you have a vacume leak. Check all intake hoses for leaks and spray brake cleaner around intake gaskets if rpms change then you found a leak also clean your mass airflow sensor

My 2000 jimmy takes about 10 to 20 engine cranks in the morning when its cold out.when it starts its good the rest of the day. but its getting worse the amount of cranking the engine over in the morn

I'd use a fuel pressure gage, check fuel pressure, key on, engine off, first thing in the morning, 60--66 psi, spider fuel system. If you have the spider fuel stem, that system is noted for problems.
There is a service bulletin for cold start-up problems, caused by fuel poppet valves sticking. Once you get it started, it runs fine the rest of the day. The poppet cleaning procedure shows to be a shop procedure.

Hesitation on Startup. Battery & Alternator are good. Fuel related? Spark plugs?

If you are saying it takes a long time to start the engine, have you checked fuel pressure before and after cranking ?

Cold starting

Most common reason for no start cold with a lack of fuel is the fuel pump relay or the check valve in the pump.
The fuel line should have some pressure it it after sitting overnight. If not, the check valve in the pump may have let fuel flow back into the tank. It would take a few minutes of cranking to get it started.
Also, if the fuel pump relay is not working, the pump would not get power until the engine has oil pressure.

Sounds like a faulty fuel pressure regulator.Pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator. If fuel runs out of it replace the regulator.

sounds like you (may) have bad fuel presure regulator. if there is a check engine light on you must take it to a shop and have it scanned for trouble codes.

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? If you have that spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. Check the fuel pressure, key on engine off, 60--66 psi. After it starts it will run with less pressure. In the past I have seen service bulletins about the poppet valves sticking, the fix was a cleaning procedure, that was a shop procedure.
Mainly the bulletin talked about hard starts in the morning because of poppet valves sticking, after it starts it will usually run fine the rest of the day, after it sits overnight, you have the same problem the next morning.
There could be other issues?
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.

Just changed fuel filter. Now having trouble starting. Then runs

What is the fuel pressure?. how many miles on the truck? has the pump been replaced before? one item to check first is the fuel pressure regulator. it may be under the engine cover on the drivers side. turn the eng off and remove the little vac line from the regulator. see if there is any fuel coming out of the nipple. if there is fuel, replace the fuel pressure regulator. it may take a while to leak fuel , but if it does, replace it.

Best thing to do in your case is take it to a mechanic and put it on a computer scanner to bring up a code # to detect the faulty part. The Check Engine Light usually represents a problem in the emissions system.
