Hi, Jeep Compass electrical Problems, since couple weeks the "noFuse" appear on the board, the battery is always out of charge and the lock/unlock from remote doesnt work. I tried finding the problem via the fuse box w/o luck, it seems that theres a short somewhere but i cant locate it. thx

First of all, one of the easiest & cheapest ways to find a draw in the system, if you don't have a clamp on style amp-meter, is with a 12volt test light that costs about $5-$10 at parts stores or hardware stores. You remove positive (+) cable from battery, and simply attach test light in between the battery cable & battery + post. Be careful neither end touches metal obviously. Anytime the test light is lit, you have a draw. If light is nice & bright, it's a fairly good draw, when dim, slight draw. When light goes out, no draw. Now start pulling and re-installing fuses. If you pull a fuse and bright light goes out, you've isolated the circuit.. I usually make sure I have notes or whatever is needed to insure I put fuses back where they should be, then I pull radio fuse and leave it out, as it will cause a constant draw for memory, and sometimes any accessory fuses such as lighter, or power socket for 12v chargers etc. With those out of the way, start pulling and watch light, if no change, put it back in. When I run into a real stumper, I make necessary notes if needed as before, and pull them all out, and light should be off. Now I start putting them in 1 at a time, and watch the light, when it comes on, I note that circuit, pull it back out, and do same with the rest. When your done you will have notes on every circuit that is causing a draw on your battery when sitting. Before you start, take your test light, go to all the fuses and touch little tips sticking out at end of fuses on both side to test for power, if only power on one side, that is a circuit that would not cause a draw when sitting & vehicle off. That would only be powered when key on, headlights on for example, so it doesn't come into play here. Leave those in if you want & it doesn't confuse you. Yes a little time consumming, but hey, think of the learning experience, and a simple test light, is something that every car owner should have anyway. Next time your wondering which fuse blew, you have a test light to tell you. As far as the heated seat goes, if there is a short there, and it's causing a lot of draw, pulling fuse should eliminate & confirm that.

remove and clean your battery terminals ,that should help,you should hear a click from the starter when you try ,otherwise could be your starter

SOURCE: electric windows wont work cant find fuse

if it the old vitara i had exactly the same problem i shorted the fuze when trying to fix the windows and i could not find the fuze. By trial and error i found that the fuse is the round one next to the fuze box inside the car. Hope this helps.

Fwd lights always on jeep compass


try it in dirt yet (gravel, sand, grass dirt)
since you didnt post transfer case type can't answer
if you use , part time 4wd on dry pavement this will happen as
will 4low or lock. read the operators guide, one more time.

its a new car get it serviced, or drive in dirt, and turn off 4wd
see if it stays off. if you use the car wrong, the dealer will just stare at you, in a very not so funny way.

you need to unluck in dirt. drive to side of road with gravel

2007 jeep compass battery light


The light is supposed to mean the battery is not being charged by the alternator.
It's possible the alternator is failing when it gets hot, so testing it in a shop may not show any problems.
I would suggest checking output when the warning light is on if possible.

After disconnecting the battery, then re-connecting, jeep won't start, and red security appears on dash board


ok use door locks lock every thing then go unlock the tail door then unlock passenger door that should reset it

fully charge that battery , the clicking you hear is the starter relay trying to supply power to the starter, with little luck,,, often a battery will seem charged and show 12 volts, but one cell could be dead and that would drop the necessary amps to be delivered to the starter to actually turn the car over. Having the battery LOAD tested will show you right away what shape your battery is in. if it checks out to be bad,, just replace it, I believe thats going to fix your starting problems

What does the battery light on a 2007 jeep compass mean?


Battery light indicates that you have a charging system problem. Have it checked immediately or it will either die or not start, usually when you need it most. (seems to always work that way).
Moat larger parts stores will do a free test and that will give you a good idea what is happening there.

Battery electric/electronic problems.


1) Electrical problems are part of the Jeep heritage. The **** engineers have been ignoring the problems since the 1990s.

Use soda water, bicarb, and Wire brush to remove the white fuzzy corrosion. Reinstall and dust bicarb on top of the battery. Spray WD40 on battery post conectors and the fenderwell connection BEFORE dusting with the bicarb.
