If the glove box was closed wrong than the latch that keeps the glove box shut will close on itself. If you take a pen or a screwdriver and put little pressure on it and try the handle again it should open. if thats not the case than replace the handle, the locking mechanism with in the handle or the spring broke or came apart.

I hv a Mercedes Benz CLK. 200 automatic car. It's battery is dying unless it is started every single day. So I changed battery to a brand new one, changed alternator but still now, even after starting...

There is a possibility that there is a low consumer of power which stay on even after you lock the the vehicle. Here is a list of possible causes; Check if all the door switches are not broken, if they are broken the door lights will remain on and since they are covered when the doors are closed you won't notice.Check also the glove box switch if it's intact and working properly, that's if the glove box light goes off upon closing. You may also check if the boot closes properly and if the boot lights goes off.

Battery is OK. It gets charged when running. If left overnight battery runs flat. Suspect an Off key short. Where do I start to determine where the short circuit is?

the most common cause of a battery running down can be traced to lights that are on when the ca r sits overnight, check your glove box and make sure that the light inside is not staying on when you close the door, check the light switch to make sure it is working properly and turning off when the glove box door is closed.

How to change cabin air filter in a 2003 Subaru outback/

Your cabin filter is located behind the glove box.
First you will need to remove the glove box. Open the glove box, and on the left and right side on the inside, there will be a retainer that you will need to pull out. This will cause your glove box to fall forward, exposing all of the screws. Unscrew the 10 screws around the outer edge of the glove box, and pull the unit down and out of your way.
After the glove box is removed, you will be able to see the HVAC casing. You will see the access door to the cabin filter, held in with some clips. Disconnect the resistor connector that is in your way, then remove the four clips in order to access the filters.
Once you pull the filters out, you can install the new ones in reverse order. Make sure that the arrows on the filters are pointing up, and that the door is sealed properly when you close it back up.
Good luck and please let me know if I may further assist you. -TXTEXAN

The lower glove box on my 2009 Rav4 won't close. It feels like something has fallen behind it. How do I remove the glove box door?

I had the same problem with my 2009 RAV4 lower glove box. I removed the box by popping the top front right post and then the top left front post from theside housings by prying them free with my fingers. They pop out easily. I then let the box fall open and while holding it level to the floor, pulled forward, released the piston from the post on the right, and the glove compartment came out without tools. There was a plastic electrical box cover, which came loose behind the glove box, blocking it from closing. I snapped the cover plate back in place and then reversed the glove box removal process. It took a few minutes and I needed no tools.

Fuse box locations on a 2006 jeep wrangler 4.0 6speed manual

To access the fuse panel the glove box must be removed. It is removed by slipping the glove box strap off the hook and letting the door roll down off its hinges. To reinstall, position the glove box door at an 8 o’clock orientation, engage the hinge hook formations on the lower edge of the glove box door with the hinge pins on the lower edge of the instrument panel. Tilt the upper edge of the glove box door upward toward the instrument panel enough to reattach the glove box strap to the door. Rotate glove box door to closed position. Open and close to insure proper installation.

Hope helps (remember rated this). Good luck.

Lower Glove Box Won't Close

I fixed this in a 2010 Rav4 by lowering the glovebox all the way and finding that the cover to the cabin air filter had fallen off and was jamming the hinge of the glove box. To lower the glove box, pull the glove box side walls inward until the lock tabs clear the sides of the opening and you can rotate it all the way down. Clear whatever is jamming the hinge and rotate the glove box back into position. Be sure the hinge is pushed all the way forward onto the corresponding pin before closing the glove box, otherwise there will be misalignment. There is also a plastic air piston on the right side of the glove box assembly that damps the movement of the glove box. Be sure the piston assembly is secured into the two corresponding locking pins (one on the glove box, the other on the glove box opening) before closing the glove box.

How do i inside air filter for 2008 HHR

Open the glove box on the right side of the dash. There are tabs on each side that must be pushed inward to release the glove box, and let it open completely. You may need to remove all items from the glove box before doing this, as most stuff will fall out when you release the tabs, and let the glove box open fully.
You will then see three (3) tabs that hold the cabin filter compartment door closed. Release those tabs to expose the filter. The old filter will slide straight out. Do this slowly, as not to send dust and dirt flying all over the inside of the car. Note the direction of flow on the old filter before removing it. The filter will be marked, "AIR FLOW" and have an arrow indicating this.
Now, simply install the new filter, noting the direction of flow. Close the filter housing, snap the housing tabs closed, raise the glove box back into position slowly, re-installing the glove box tabs, and you're finished.
This procedure is also explained in your owners' manual, on page 3-22, under Passenger Compartment Air Filter.
