I wonder if you dont have a bad switch. I had a similar problem on my car except that it was the heated seats that would not engage... the power seat buttons all worked just fine. I changed the switch and it fixed the problem...
Note: this was on a BMW not a Murano

The reason is that your sliding grips have been slipped and therefore jammed at one position.
Remove the seat open it's sliding grips and replace it.

THERE IS NO WAY TO OVERIDE WITH TAKING THE WHOLE THING APART, HOW DO U KNOW IT IS THE SWITCH? THERE ARE MULTIPLE MOTORS IN THE SEAT TRANSMISSION ONE OF THESE COULD BE DEFECTIVE, THE SWITCH IS EASY TO TEST GET A TEST LIGHT AND TEST IT.

Check for obstuction on seat track or try listening to see if you can hear seat motor operating. if you can't hear motor operating check fuse.

needs a forward/rearward motor. it has two separate motors under the seat. very common and i replace them all the time. good luck
