2006 armada. can't mmunicate with any computers on vehicle with scan toolno blown fuses

get the correct scam tool with the right protocols for reading the codes
the cheaper tools --up to $500 will only read certain makes of cars
some only read European makes , some only Asian cars and companies like GM need a special scan tool to read their computers
makes like Nissan have a switch in the side of the ECM which needs to be turned on to get the codes reading on a scan tool
scan tools that have the capability to read all cars cost upwards of $15,000.00

What is (P1612 code) vehicle immobilizer means?

An immobilizer is an electronic device fitted to an automobile which prevents the engine from running unless the correct key is present. This prevents the car from being hot wired after entry has been achieved.
The microcircuit inside the key is activated by a small electromagnetic field which induces current to flow inside the key body, which in turn broadcasts a unique binary code which is read by the automobile's Engine Control Module (ECM). When the ECM determines that the coded key is both current and valid, the ECM activates the fuel-injection sequence.
The immobilizer function of the Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System (NVIS) or Nissan Anti-Theft System (NATS) consists of the following:
- NATS ignition key
- NATS antenna amp. located in the ignition key cylinder
- Body control module (BCM) or (IMMU)
- Engine Control Module (ECM)
- Security indicator lamp

What is the check engine on the dashboard

Your vehicle engine systems are run by a computer, called the ECU or ECM. There are others of these too, possibly one to run the auto trans.

There are several inputs to the ECM from things like vacuum and engine speed. When the ECM senses something is abnormal, the check engine light comes on. This may be only a minor thing, or something more serious.

The ECM has a connector to read out a code which will tell what it thinks the trouble is. If in the USA you can buy one of these trouble code readers and use it yourself. Some cars like Camrys have a simpler method to read the code just by connecting 2 terminals in a junction box under the hood.

Once you find out what the trouble code means, you can take steps to fix it. Then the trouble code has to be reset to normal, which is simple.

C230 kompressor Sport Mercedes Benz 2003 erratic at idle what is the most likely solution

Hi Terry,

Liquids act as a conductor, so hopefully the oil leak did not allow any contacts on your ECM to short circuit.

As your vehicle is not idling properly, your vehicle's OBD computer will have store the appropriate fault codes. Have your codes read by your local MB dealership (they have the required hand-held scanner), or an authorised service agent. This will immediately identify the suspected circuit causing this condition.

However, if no codes are present, then the 'loping' idle may be due to a vaccuu / air leak.

If your ECM is indeed faulty, the appropriate 'ECM Failure' code will also be stored in memory.

NB: DO NOT allow a garage to replace your ECM, unless they can PROVE the ECM is actually fault (this is a common tactic for garages, so stand your ground).

Hope this helps....

Check transmission came on plus o/d light blinking

flashing light means the ECM has a stored trouble code. you will need to take the vehicle to someone that has diagnostic computer to communicate with ECM and read the code

When connecting code reader to ecm, code reader is giving error message that code reader is not connected and i have tried 3 different readers they all do the same thing,.note: service engine light is on...

Check to make sure that the fuse to the cigarette lighter is not blown or that something like a penny has not found its way in there and shorted out the fuse. Check all the fuses because it will throw the diagnostic tool off if they are blown. *** Please rate me on this answer.***

I turned the key to my 2001 dodge ram 3500 and it

A code P0500 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
1.The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not reading (functioning) properly 2.There is a broken/frayed wire leading to the vehicle speed sensor 3.The vehicle's PCM is not correctly configured for the actual tire size on the vehicle
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Next, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the speed sensor. The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly. If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor.
P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC
Detected in ECM
A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM which is related to the above DTC code.
