SOURCE: My 2004 Freestar rear door is stuck in the closed

there is a rod that connects the solenoid to the lock assy. from inside the van you can move it with your hand or pliers and then open the hatch. you will need to clean up the lock because ther will be corrosion and then use a white grease to lube the whole thing. operate by hand a few times before you close it up. there is an access port by the lock inside the door so you dont need to take the whole panel off.

Our car has been sitting parked for the past 8 months, today we tried to move it and the back brakes are locked, and the back wheels will not move? What could be the cause of this?

The bracke drum / Hand brake cable is stuck . Try to hammer the rear wheel centre and if the brake drum is stuck it wiill be released .
Also the cable of hand brake is stuck . try puling the hand lever of the hand brake up and down many times this may free it .

I removed the rear wheel from my 2004 toyota corolla and I now have access to the rear drums. How do I open the drums, and what are the proper procedures for replacing the stock shoes of the rear drum...

the drum should come off, if they are stuck, sometimes a few whacks with a hammer gets them loose, or sometimes you can thread a 8mm bolt in the threaded holes to press them out. just do one side at a time and you can refer to the other side for reference
