You need to clean out the connector really, really well. Also, check the fuses to be sure nothing shorted out. If all else fails you'll need to install a new cable. Your dealer can get you the part.

Sound system doesn't recognise iPod

There should be a factory reset in the back of the stereo. If not there could be a small fuse in the back of the stereo. Either use the factory reset or unplug the fuse make sure is good and reinstall. This should clear the issue

When I connect my iPod to my radio system in my land rover vehicle it presents an error upon connecting it "Device error"

It looks like there is an issue with communication to your device. You need to check your dock port, where you connect the cable. There could be lint in the port, or the pins may be damaged. The port can be replaced by a professional if need be. Otherwise, have you considered restoring your iPod with iTunes? If you did an update OTA with wifi, something may not be right, and restoring from the computer may help. If you\'ve tried that, and still no success, iOS 6 may not be compatible with your car stereo

I just purchased a 2008 VW Passat. It has an iPod docking station in the glove box. The dealer said to plug in your iPod and hit the "CD" button twice. Nothing happens. The sound system keeps...

The CD player needs to recognize the "magazine". Once the IPod is plugged in then turn on the radio and press the CD button until it says Magazine.

I want to use my ipod in car but have no jack soket on cd to connect can i hardwire some sort of docking station to it ???. i have used fm transmitters but they all seem to crackle and im not impressed....

Will be ways cheeper buying a new car radio with an Line-input.
Check anyway if there isn't a line-input at the back. Then you could fix a jack female socket somewhere, connected to that line input.

I want to hook my IPod directly to the aux port of my radio and I want it to charge the iPod as well as play the music. Is there a cable that does both music input and power charging? I have a 2001 Tahoe...

You can get a Peripheral PXDX and connect it to you AUX port on the back of you radio. The interface can be tucked behind the dash with the docking cable being the only part hanging out-to connect your ipod to. You can change songs from your radio control head-or steering wheel controls-if your vehicle has them. The docking station charges your Ipod while it's connected. Peripheral has a website you can read about the interfaces. They are available on ebay for under $100. I have the interface in two of my vehicles. The only problem is, you can't see which track is playing on your radio, but you are able to skip through tracks either by Ipod control or radio head.
