SOURCE: a red light keeps flashing

It could be the brake pad wear sensor - or a simple electrical fault with one of them.

Worth unplugging, checking you have continuity, then plug back in with a light smear of vasaline on the pins to keep the salt out.

SOURCE: cigarette lighter came apart...how to gain access to console?

remove the ashtray. then remove the holder for the ashtray. the lighter is just inside. be careful not to short the hot wire to ground. It runs from the battery to the fuse box then to the lighter. Check the fuse if the first if you haven't already.

if you follow the cable there will be a turn buckle at some point turn it until the slack is correct it is most likely under the vehicle before the two cables meet usually halfway down the body or directly under the driver seat along the frame

How to adjust rear brake and handbrake on Hyundia i10

look in your centre console between the seats and remove the bottom of it this would usually just pull out then there should be the end of your handbrake cables with a 10mm adjustable nut that you can get a spanner on ,obviously make sure your car can not roll and release your handbrake wind the nut in a couple of turns then try your handbrake ,keep doing this until it reaches your desired height
Hope this helps Nick

I have been having a clunking sound from my peugeot 206 for a week or so now and this morning it did it again then when i went to put the handbrake back on its really high what has happened the handbrake...

Problem will be with the rear brake shoes. Very likely one of 2 handbrake cables corroded and snapped.
Access to handbrake is under the plastic centre console - then under flap in carpet. Should be a ballance bar that should be equal 90 degrees. If it's not - replace both handbrake cables. DIY job -but you need a 2ft breaker bar for the Hub nuts.

Adjust handbrake on nissan terrano

On the inboard side of the rear wheel hubs, you will find an oval rubber plug, pry this plug out, to gain access to the brake adjuster.
Pull the handbrake up two clicks.
Jack and support. Remove the rear wheel, and adjust the brake using a screw driver levered through the slot to turn the notched wheel of the adjuster, until the hub starts to drag when rotated by hand. Repeat for the other side. Note the ratchet mechanism on the adjuster will only let it turn one way.

Adjusting the park brake

back of the handbrake lever where the rear ashtray is remove the screws that hold the centre consol down ,or behind the ashtray is a cover that you pull out exposing the cable adjuster ,best is too look at the rear brakes because if their drum brakes then the auto adjusters need adjusting manualy ,or some models have the handbrake inside the rear disk on brake shoes and they will need manually adjusting

look inside where handle is, in the center you will see the adjustment, there will be one or two adjusting nuts at the begining of each cable where they connect to the arm. good luck hope this helps.

Clock not staying in place

You'll need to remove the entire vertical console (pops out after you remove two phillips screws at the bottom behind the cup holders). There are two phillips head screws (possibly 4) holding the digital clock in place (back side) of the vertical console.

How to adjust the handbrake on a 2002 Daewoo Nubira

i think you'll have to look at the piece of felt under the casette holder lid , lift the felt up using a very fine flat ended screw driver and there should be a couple of bolts under there ! if yes , then take the lid off also , another two philips head screws . if its the same as the centre console of the 1998 model !! now , having removed the bolts , gently lift the rear end of the centre console , with a torch you should be able to see the adjuster . Make sure the hand brake is down , so put bricks under one or both of the front wheels and leave it in gear , also , do this on a flat surface !!!!
Adfter you've done the adjustment , before putting everything back together , put the console into normal position and try putting handbrake on and off , it should feel firm to lock the back brake  ! then if all is okay , put the screws back in reverse order good luck
