Accelerating from a stop at b/t 30-35mph transmition hesitates

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 4.0 4wd 6cyl. the problem was occurring at all ranges of spd i drained the trans fluid, replaced the trans filter,trans range sensor, throttle pos sensor i cannot locate the speed sensor. ?

    the only sensor i found on trans was more like a temperature sensor at the top of trans could that be it?

    sorry im new at this, i was pressing on accelerator pedal and engine rpms reved up until gear kicked in prior to changing trans position sensor overdrive light would blink when problem occured

Your transmission is going out, sorry to be the bearer of bad news dude. You have an internal pressure leak. That's why it's catching and releasing. You have to build up the pressure in it to get it to engage the clutchplates. Everytime it does that, you're getting closer and closer to it not going back into gear. Park it if you can, otherwise you will be towing it in a couple of weeks if driven every day.

1996 Ford Explorer vibrates when idling. Also have noticed that when I go 80 mph, it "jumps" every few seconds. Like it skips a beat. I don't know how to explain it but it seams to "stall" like if you were...


You have a hesitation. A hesitation is cause be either:
1. bad spark plug
2. bad spark plug wire
3. bad or leaky or plugged injector
4. timing is off
5. leaky vacuum hose

Hard shift and blinking overdrive


The blinking overdrive button is telling u that a serious fault has occurred in the electronic controls or a mechanical fault such as excess slippage is occurring.
