Yes sir, this is my friends vehicle and she said it just stop. She had it towed. She stated that the fuel gauge usually doesn't work. I brought over five gallons and according to the gauge, now reads full. I had her crank it over and I lifted the hood. That is when I noticed a spark from a spark plug wire to the soaked trans filler tube. I stuck a scrap of cardboard between the two, and no more arc. Could that particular wire be ruined, causing no spark and no start?

Thank you for taking time to provide this information. If the vehicle was out front I'd get to it. I won't have time to play around until after work thursday. I will follow up with this issue then. Again thank you for the help.

That is a possibility, but not the cause of it not starting. I'm going to give you a list of things to do. If it doesn't do what I tell you it's supposed to, then it's probably the problem.
1. Don't call me sir, I work for a living. lol
2. Turn the key on, but do not turn over.
3. Find the fuel rail and look for a valve like the ones used on your tires. Push in the button. if it just squirts a little, your not getting fuel.
Check relay, fuse, and pump.
If it sprays hard enough to blow your finger off of it, it's fine.
Don't forget to smoke during this process, it's good for the heart. Just kidding.
Next, open the oil filler cap on top of the Valve Cover. Look in there with a flashlight. If you have a V-6 or 8 you will have to do this with both sides. And turn over the engine, you should see the rocker arms moving, if not you blew your timing chain or belt. You will still get the timed spark, because it is controlled by a crankshaft position sensor most of chevys 91 and up engines.
If it passes both of those, then it's electrical. Replace the wires at this point, and then, well, I guess I should ask you if you can recognize an obd port, where it is located, by chance?

My car won't start, seems like no spark?/,just turns over and over

before u replace the whole dist. have u first checked for fuel delivery on the carb or fuel rail, and then if u have that then check the spark plug wire by removing one while cranking by arcing to metal , if you see spark then dist is good if not then replace, but if dist is good and still no start then check coil pack and or all fuses

1999 chev blazer won't start new fuel pump

So, do you hear the pump buzz on, when key is on? If that's good, then check your ignition circuit: check for spark at a plug. Use insulated pliers, hold end of plug wire 1/4 inch form engine bolt or ground source. When cranked, you should see a bright blue spark. Yes? Try another plug wire, too. No? Try another plug wire. If you have NO spark, could be your coil, coil pack, crank position sensor, ignition module. I would recommend using a diagnostic flow-chart to go through the ignition circuit. That way, you are not replacing unecessary parts_Expensive! Of course, if you have spark at plugs, your ignition circuit is good! Then you have to look further, like your injector circuit. Good luck.

Hi. i have a 1994 s10 blazer and it will not start for anything. i changed the injectors and the fuel pump, spark plugs are fine and tubes are in the right posisioon, do you know what it could be.

Anytime a car wont start its missing one of the key things it needs to start. Air, Fuel, spark or compression. The first thing to check is to pull a wire off the spark plug and put a screw drive in the end of the wire. Lay the screw driver on the engine near metal. Crank it and look for a large blue spark it should make a nice popping noise.
If no spark try the same thing with the coil wire. If spark its the cap or rotor. No spark its the coil or module.
If the plugs have spark, try pouring a small amount of gas in the throttle body and see if that starts it. If it does, fuel problem check filter and pump.
If it wont start with either or gas in the throttle body and the plugs have spark then it is either a timing or compression issue. Remove the plug wire from the center of the distrib cap and then remove the cap making sure no wires come off. Have someone crank the engine and see if the rotor spins. If it does not you need to replace the timing chain/belt. If it does spin rent a compression checker and check each cylinder.

Hope this helps.

YOU NEED TO CHECK DARK GREEN/ORANGE WIRE AT IGNITION COIL WHEN CRANKING ENGINE FOR POWER..IF NO POWER,SHUTDOWN RELAY IS NOT BEING ENERGIZED..THIS ENGINE ALSO HAS CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ON END OF CYLINDER HEAD..ENGINE CONTROLLER NEEDS CAM AND CRANK SIGNALS TO ENERGIZE THE SHUTDOWN RELAY..UNPLUG CRANK SENSOR AND CHECK VOLTAGE ON ORANGE WIRE..SHOULD HAVE APPROX 8V..IF NOT..UNPLUG CAM SENSOR AND SEE IF 8V SUPPLY RETURNS..IF NO POWER TRY UNPLUGGING VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR LOCATED IN TRANS HOUSING WHERE RIGHT SIDE AXLE COMES OUT OF TRANS..IF 8V RETURNS..THE SPEED SENSOR IS SHORTED INTERNALLY..THESE 3 SENSORS SHARE THE SAME 8V SUPPLY CIRCUIT..WITH SPEED SENSOR UNPLUGGED,PLUG CRANK SENSOR BACK IN AND TRY TO START ENGINE..HAVE SEEN THIS SAME PROBLEM AT WORK RECENTLY

97 Jetta will not start

Sounds like there's no spark. Change the ignition coil. This is a common solution for cars that won't start due to lack of spark. To check for spark, pull a spark plug wire and hold it near the manifold and have someone turn the key to crank. If you don't see an arc of spark coming from the wire, this would confirm your spark problem. Hope this answers your question.. Best of luck.

Check spark to #4 cyl if it is almost constant bad cap and button by gm parts clean ground to chassis connection . The #2,3,5 arc to # 4 due to cap design check with timing light 1 and 6 are direct feed in cap . Hope this helps .
