One of 3 things happened. Either you have a loose o2 sensor connection, You got some bad gas and it gave it some funny readings, or your o2 sensor is going out. When you have an intermittent problem in your o2 sensor. Well, think of it like this. When the lights off, you're probably getting 19mpg, when it's on you're getting 12mpg. Replace it, and you should bump back up to your 24mpg. That's about all that code will do to you. It's your call from here.

The problem is not gone. It is being stored in our ecu. What happens is the ecu logs trips. If the O2 sensor is in spec for a certain amount of trips it will turn off the light because it thinks it is ok. If you connect a scanner to your vehicle the code should still be saved under pending codes. Most likely your light will come on again. It is not fixed yet.

Most likely a one of the o2 sensors are causing this problem. What you need to do is a get a repair manual and do some pin tests on the O2's and figure out which one is faulty.

Have you O2 sensors checked out. I have blowen out 2 on the same bank, sounds like the same problem. Check engine light will stay on solid, blink for a while, solid. Surefire way to check is run your finger in the tailpipe after it is cooled down. If it is very black with soot, then it probably is the O2 sensor.

Service Engine Light staying On

Alot of times a voltage drop to the O2 Sensor can cause your check engine light to come on. Even tho the O2 sensor is wrong fine.

Does it ever go off? Or is it on as soon as you turn on the vehicle?
