Go to autozone.com and sign up with an account and they have free repair manuals online.

On most volvos its a simple job...

Jack up car, remove the tire. remove the 2 (sometimes 4) bolts holding the control arm to the subframe. Remove the bolt on the steering knuckle and hit the control arm downwards.. should fall right out.

You have to take the bolt out the drve shaft, 13 or 14 mm depending on year then when vechicle is in the air remove under tray and int eh sub frame there are 2 x 17mm bolts going though the bush remove them and remove the 18 mm bolt with a 21mm nut on it and then the lower ball joint should be eeither a 18mm or 21 mmm nut and this will pop out, the bushs are around 40 each you can go to a main dealer and ask for police bushs these bushs are alot stiffer and the same rice and last longer, but require taking to a garage to press or cheaper option might be to buy the cmplete arm for around 80 but saves paying someone to fit them and it has 2 new bushs fittes as the other bushs go as well

Pretty straight forward,
you will need bar for refitting plus the 2 bolts are hard to access by engine I did mine without lifting engine but a bit fiddley
3hrs both sides.

Has there ever been a recall on 2002 s60 volvo for turbo or transmission problems?

No. As with any vehicle, maintain clean transmission fluid, and the car will serve you well. However, the 2002 S80 does have a high frequency of instrument cluster failure.

This is what my code scanner says:
P0234 Engine Overboost Condition
If you have a non-turbo model, then it's probably something else. It may be a bad turbo overboost switch. My S80 is non-turbo but I had an overboost switch go out on my Mercedes and it shut down the turbo but I had the same error message. Good luck!
