Question about 2001 Volvo S60

2001 volvo s60 2.4 turbo misfire

Has codes po300, po301,02,03,04,and 05 codes the dealer put new plugs in .I have good fuel pressure 60psi, engine vac is 17.5, theres no vac in the crank case, the injector ohm out at 19.0 and 20 ohms spac is 12 ohms they look good on lab scope , the coil boots are clean and dry the grounds are good for the coils,i checked cat backpressure there isnt any maf 3.5 gps at idle and 11.0 at 2500rpm any ideas on what it might be the miss acurse at about 1300rpm under load and 2200rpm in park

  • the p0300 car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing p0301 In this case it's cylinder #1.p0302 In this case it's cylinder #2.and so on i would check the three listed above first then check
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty or plugged fuel injector
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve
  • Defective computer Random misfires that jumps around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak that may be a broken hose or in the intake manifold (gasket,spary aruond it with wd40 or starer fluid if the engine idle goes high theres your problem) or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open. hope this helps

    code p 0300 is for random/ multiple misfires===causes -- injector/s , low fuel pressure , wiring, plugs , HT leads , coil/s
    fuel pump . air leaks
    mostly it is fuel related so use a quality injector cleaner first , check fuel pressure ( should be around 45-65 psi depending on the make )
    the p 0300 codes is the first of the 0300 codes where the next code is 0301 which indicates the problem is no 1 piston , 0302 is no2 piston and so on for the number of cylinders that there are

    It reads codes po300 po300 po522 but it runs perfect sometimes I need to press fuel pedal to start?


    code p 0300 refers to random/multiple cylinder misfires detected ===causes spark plugs ---HT leads ---injector/s--ignition coil/s---low compression---wiring
    code p 0522 refers to engine oil pressure sensor/switch--low voltage ===causes wiring short to ground ---engine oil pressure sensor /switch---ECM
    for the first code having to alter the accelerator position ( which tells the ECM to let in more fuel indicates either a low pressure in the fuel manifold or that the injectors need cleaning
    At high way speeds when the engine appears to be running good , it is still possible to have random misfires caused by low fuel pressures and /or dirty injector tips
    It would be a good idea to check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge ,then replace the oil pressure sensor/switch

    Checking fuel injection system, ignition system and components
    In the event of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), that affect camshaft control or camshaft reset valve, these must be fault-traced first.
    The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates which cylinder has misfired: ECM3533

    Check that engine oil level is correct.
    Check the spark plugs, search for damage in the insulation and other damage.
    Check ignition spark.
    Check the function of the crankcase ventilation.
    Checking fuel and residual pressure. Checking fuel and residual pressures See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Engine\Fuel Pressure\Testing and Inspection\Checking Fuel and Residual Pressures
    Check if there is any air leakage. Check for air leaks in the intake system See: Powertrain Management\Fuel Delivery and Air Induction\Testing and Inspection\Air Leaks in the Intake System, Checking
    Check that the engine seals tight. Compression test See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Engine\Compression Check\Testing and Inspection\Compression Test
    Check flywheel for damage. I have also seen these ECU's fail.
    Finally, one thing you can try is called a "hard reset" by disconnecting both battery cables and hold them together for about 3 to 5 minutes, not letting them touch anything else. After this hook them back up and take it for a test drive about 10 miles. The adaptive memory may reset things back to normal. Please advise

    Codes PO300-PO305 TCS and emission lights on, runs OK except sl rough at lower speeds


    you have multiple misfire po300 and cylinder 5 po305 misfire.the misfire is causing the rough running.The computer has disabled your traction control.You either have carbon in the EGR which simulates a vacuum leak,bad spark plugs,a leaking intake manifold,or low fuel pressure from a bad pump or clogged filter.
    i would start with the spark plugs and fuel filter

    I have a 2003 lancer that's putting out po300 misfire code how do find out were its coming from . no turbo


    Possible causes
    - Faulty spark plug (s)
    - Faulty ignition coil (s)
    - Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s)
    - Intake air leak
    - Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted

    The P0300 code means that a cylinder(s) is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks, intake gaskets are common caused of multi-cylinder misfiring.     2001 grand Cherokee. Code P0300


    po300 is a random misfire, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why. If it was a po302 this means its #2 cylinder thats misfiring,ETC, But po300 could be any one of the cylinders. check plugs, wires, fuel injectors, Etc. Good-Day!

    code p0102 refers to MAF/VAF sensor ---low input ===causes --wiring short to ground. MAF/VAF sensor
    code po172 refers to system too rich --bank 1=== causes ---intake blocked --EVAP canister purge valve---fuel pressure ---HO2S sensor
    code po random misfires ---plugs --wiring ---injectors--low compression
    code po305 refers to cylinder 5 misfire detected ===causes --engine mechanical fault--ignition/ fuel system ---injector ---ECT/MAF

    I would check that the air filter is not blocked first as it affects the MAF/VAF sensors . Have a fuel pressure system pressure test done

    06 cobalt has a p300 code and has a mis i replaced plugs and coil pack and still runs the same help

    Runs fine going uphill but starts misfireing going


    po300 random misfire it needs a tune up..plugs and wires, air and fuel filter........po452 fuel pressure sensor or the fuel level sensor..The fuel pressure sensor is located on top of the fuel pump module.Hope this help...pls rate

    P0300 - Combination misfire detected
    P0301 - Cyl 1 misfire
    P0302 - Cyl 2 misfire

    If it has a lot of miles it needs a tune up.
    Fill tank with high quality premium fuel
    Check fuel pressure
