Question about 1985 GMC K1500

1 Answer

When im driving above 50mph then let off the gas i here a grinding noise for about a few seconds or sometimes i hear thud when i let off the gas quickly. It sounds like it is coming from the tranny area around the front of it. It doesnt make the noise at the lower speeds and it runs smoothly.

1997 ford f150 4x4 with MSOF jumps out of 2wd while driving. 4 wheel works fine.

It sounds like you have different size tires on the front than on the back causing the t-case to bind up. If not, your having an engagement/disengagement issue in the t-case or the shift actuator for the t-case

What could be the problem.. my 2007 montana van gets stuck for a few seconds and sometimes vibrates like the wheels locked as i step on the gas pedal and drive.. i could be in park and step on the brake...

if you are getting a grinding sound or feeling then your brakes lining is gone and you are down to the metal. you need to fix this asap the longer you drive and use the brakes the more damage you are doing to the rotors.

Pound ticking noise when my 99 durango starts goes away after the engine warms up

The ticking noise could be a faulty hydrulic valve lifter. When last was the oil & filter changed, it coul be that the oil is thick and not going through to the lifters and when it warms up the oil is thin. It could be that the engine is need of an overhaul as 148.000 miles is 238.182 Kilometers and that is a hi milage.

2006 Chevy Trailblazer makes THUD when accelerating

Check your coolant level, low coolant or air in your cooling system will make a "thud"noise in your heater core when the engine is under load from acceleration. The coolant rushes in to the heater core where the air pocket is trapped and then your hear the noise.
Start with the simple and make sure your coolant level is correct and then try to purge the system to remove the air out for your coolant system.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck

I feel a slight thud in the steering and hear a light thud when I turn a corner; seems to happen most when the car has just started driving; is this an issue of power steering fluids, something in the rack...

This is most likely the steering knuckle or tie rod end that needs grease or most likley replacement. If your hear clunk when turning, then it is proabably the tie rod ends. If clunks while driving, then it may be the balljoints.
