Just came from edmunds town hall, seems it's a common problem with the Grand Am (there's even a class action suit against GM over this) and the best solution seems to be to bypass the Secuirty Passlock system. Many Grand Am owners are stuck trying to reset the Security light by turning the key to ACC and waiting 10 min for it to reset, only to have it come on again later. Here's the link to the forum (almost 600 posts for same issue). I'd try a few of the remedies b/4 investing even more in a ECU which probably won't leave you any better off than you are now. Best of luck to you.

Here is what is wrong with the car, your anti thef system is active, you probably don't have the factory remote an electrical problem such as bad battery or alternator an electrical problem would set you on that mode , But well here is what to do, charge the battery, an then go inside the car, insert key on the ignition, turn key forward to ON, ((DON'T CRANK IT PLEASE) Leave it on ON only......your lights on the dash will be on an flashing , close all your doors shut ur lights off an radio, an leave the key on ON POSITION FOR ABOUT 13 MINS,,,,, THEN TURN IT OFF,,,,,,,,,,WAIT 30 SECONDS AN TRY TO START IT........OK........... LET ME KNOW.... GOOD LUCK

I don't think the fuel pump. Sounds like the crank position sensor. That, or the camshaft position sensor. The computer uses the cam position sensor to know when to pulse the injectors. The crank position sensor provides the information for spark timing. If the sensor fails, the computer won't signal the ignition module to create spark from the coils. Crank sensor failure is pretty common on earlier jeeps.

3.3 96 gran voyager not getting fuel or spark

try changing the crankshaft position sensor but first for the fuel turn the key and listen for the fuel pump to kick on if it does and it still wont start find the gas line to the fuel regulator and pull it off and have someone crank it if it has a good pump it will have good pressure and as for the spark if its not getting spark im guessing it has one coil pack together its computerized so it could of gone out but anyway check the fuel stuff first and then change the crankshaft position sensor im almost competly sure that will fix your problem

Grand Am won't start.

check for spark while cranking
there is a fuel test port under a black cap on the fuel rail press the valve in and see if there is fuel that shoots out. but crank the car a few times first and build fuel pressure. if not the fuel pump is the cause of everything. change the fuel fitler too. clogged fuel filters lead to damaged fuel pumps

If you haven't done so already, have the cam and crank shaft position sensors checked, or replaced, You have replaced everything else.
