Your a/c compressor clutch may be starting to lock up causing the engine to stall.

Maybe the alternator not producing enough voltage. Bring it to Advanced Auto parts and they will check the battery, alternator, and starter draw free of charge. Hope this helps. Good luck. Keep me posted please.

My stratus is making noises now because of my compressor, and the clutch is bad. I just purchased this car 8/20/2011, and this is what angers me is that I am paying $325 a month for 2 years. I wish there was a reasonable short cut to repair this problem.

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus (4cyl) that idles rough (almost stalls out), dies on start up and recently had a flashing engine light (backfire error). Any suggestions? No other issues, water pump and timing...

Could be the idle air control, once these start hanging up inside, they can cause as variety of problems with idle speed (can become wildly random) or simply a failure to idle at all.

These links should help:
Where is the idle air control valve located on 2004 Dodge Stratus

This could also be caused by a failing ignition pack.

When i turn my heater on (blower) my car tries to stall out. What can cause that to happen?

most likely your ac compressor is locked up. see if you can disconnect ac compressor clutch at compressor. if problem goes away, you can use heater without any problems..

Car dies when you turn on the ac

Disconnect the battery and re-connect it, or stop by an auto parts store and have them reset the adaptive memory, then drive the car for 30-40 miles to re-learn the idle. Might help Wayne
