Yes, Amsoil is an excellent brand. I use their full synthetic oil in many vehicles.

2002 Lincoln continental leaking power steering fluid at the rack after replacing PS pump

The rack has outer seals, one on each side. Its possible that one of these seals has failed. OR, If not, hopefully the technician who replaced the pump might not have properly tightened one of the hoses going to the rack, or he didn't use a good o-ring on it.

Improve power steering when rack and pinion starts binding.

One of the things you can try on your car before replacing the rack and pinion if your steering starts to bind or hard steering is to treat your PS fluid. I bought a 12 oz. container of Lucas oil, drained the exising PS fluid from my resevoir with a kitchen baster and replaced the fluid with the container of Lucas oil. Within a few days, the steering improvement was quite noticable. I did still need to replace the rack and pinion since it was worn and binding up but the Lucas oil really improved the steering ease and performance. I'd suggest this step first before any major part replacements, like PS pump or the rack and pinion. It may help save $$ The bottle of Lucas oil was $11.00 at a local auto parts outlet.

Power steering hose keeps breaking, even when replaced by high pressure hoses. Replacing rack and pinion does not help either.

A bad seal in the rack and pinion would have caused low pressure from fluid by-passing the seal. This also would have caused noticeably increased effort to steer the vehicle. Excessively high pressure would indicate an issue between the power steering pump and the rack, and since the hoses have been replaced I would focus on the pump. PS, find a real mechanic, not a parts changer.

If it is clear water, and its leaking onto the ground, and you are running the ac, its condensation from the ac.

Power steering loosing oil

year, make, model, and engine size?

You will likely not have the tools necessary to replace the seals that are leaking. If the seals are leaking than there are likely other components in the rack that are also worn out.

Rack and pinions are typically sold as remanufactured assemblies which typically offer the easiest repair option.

2005 chrysler 300 steering problem

U have a failed steering rack internal seal, the leakage causes the hard spot, most likely the seal surface is scored allowing fluid to leak by at a certain position of the wheel. Try getting a bottle of LUCAS oil brand power steering sealer and conditioner, it really works. also check and see if the PS fluid is disclored, if it is get a cheap turkey baster and **** out as much fluid as possiable and add clean fluid.

rack faults ,,,,,,steering pulls to one side then when reverse camber it pulls the other way ,cotton valve sticking ,oil leaks from steering gaiters ,seals worn .steering very light in as much as it wants to go both ways at once ,no free play in cotton valve .
