No sound from radio. When the power is turned on I hear a thumping noise from the speakers. What might be the problem? My car is a 2007 Lexus Es 350.

The thumbing noise is an out put if you hear it over the speakers.
So that means the problem is with a CD or cessette player that you must have that will not pop back to the raido mode

1996 es 300 lexus cd player wont play says error

For the cd player error.I just fixed mine i had to take the whole unit
out.Take it apart remove the laser and clean it .I'am a Electronics
Tech ( but it's not hard ) use a Q-tip and some 91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
This will help for new cd's.( before even new ones errored out)But old ones, it still error's out.
Because the laser is old and weak. But if you got the time it can't hurt.
good luck

If i get a new cd player/radio for my jetta work if in safe mode?

If you buy another factory radio it'll need the unlock code to work with your factory alarm system. But if you go with an after market radio it'll work just fine, your alarm will just think there's no radio installed.

I have the cd player that is in the c console of the car.

this really simple to remove the CD player from the car .open up the top cover of the player and remove the CD and then check the tention belt of the changer and then reinstall the same or change with same rating (tenision belt which pushes and places the cd in the player )it is very less expensive and is available with the spare part dealers at nominal cost.this is going to solve the problem p.s. please also remove the dust crarefully with soft brush when you remove the top cover this will make your cd player as good as new.
small tips clean the lens with cd lenscleaner with philps len clean solution and cd. as well.
