ask a wrecking yard this (they have costly data base to see that)
or ask GM?
or join GM tahoe forum real, just for it.
and win.
not only must the just FIT
but the PCM must like what you did.
for sure the main tranny
vast sub models of main tranny exist. even different gear ratio;s
even longer extenuation shafts and 4wd couplings.
even sensors not the same
the PCM in this truck programming does not support other wrong transmissions ever, so in the final act, ONLY GM has the answer.
or go broke fast guessing or listening to www internet rumors of rumors etc.
ask them directly, there parts pages never cover this.
only what fit the car new day 1 is there.
what can be programmed later is you ask them event.
Hi Jesse, You need to get the correct management system and probably the wiring harness to go with it. It will also require someone conversant with electronics and who knows the circuit of the vehicles concerned. Regards John
yes. 96-99 are the same. 95 are different. 94-88 are the same. thats the most i can tell you off the top of my head. As long as the trannis are the same type they'll fit. For example a 700r4 from an 86 will fit into a 88 with a minor adjustment. But an 86 700r4 will not fit into a 86 that had a TH-400 without major changes. So as long as they're both 4L60E within the years mentioned above they'll interchange just fine.
how many miles on the tranny your put in? those don't last any more then about 120-140. the sunshell breaks, you should replace it with "the beast" all shifting is in the valve body, you don't need to remove the tranny again. If your going to open her up and start wrenching, get a video/book on the 4L60E, you will start with check electrical components
Your suburban should have a 4L60E transmission if it a 1/2 ton C1500. Mine is a 4 wheel drive, but it is the same transmission except for the tail shaft to accomodate the transfer case. The 3/4 ton trucks came with a 4L80E.
Not with good results, the 4L60E is run by your ecm, the 700R4 while looking close to the same does not relie on your ecm for commands,it relies on a cable to regulate your line pressure.
