Question about 1995 Suzuki Sidekick
95 Suzuki Sidekick
Replace battery but won't maintain charge - also virtually no power - on hills won't go over 5 mph
Please help - I have had for 14 years and love it!
Yes maybe the alternator is at fault, but if your engine lacks power and can't attain the required charging RPM, then your battery will not be charged even if the alternator is alright.
Maybe the real cause is your engine. A compression test will verify if the engine is still alright. You had it for 14 years, did the engine already had an overhaul? A ring and valve job?

If it wont hold a charge its most likely your alternator. and if there is no power CHECK THE OIL! and the transmission!
