Question about Saturn L300

1 Answer

I have a weird torque wrench. I need to put 19 ft.- lbs. torque on my spark plug, I have a in-lbs. torque wrench. I've converted the 19 ft-lbs to be 228 in.-lbs. My torque wrench has 160 and 280, and the dial that goes 0-9. How do I set the wrench to 228? and what is that process so I can do it again if I need to? I get the in- lb conversion, I just dont remember how to rotate the dial to set it at 288 and why

I need the torque setting for auto lite spark plugs going into a 2005 ford taurus

My info says 11 ft lbs--motorcraft. That would probably work just fine for auto lite. I usually just snug-em up, no torque wrench. Sometimes it's awkward trying to get torque wrench and whatever applicable fittings in close spaces. If you can get a torque wrench in there, so much the better.

(1) What is the specific Newtom torque or lb-ft for the sparks plugs NGK LZKAR6AP-11 for Nissan Tiida St C-11 2011. Engine: MR18075675R, Vin:MNBBAC11A0016494.

You miss understand why things need to be torqued .
Torque is not specific to the vehicle its the bolt how hard what is thread pitch how many threads per in or mm how many bolts and what kind compression is required .
Compression always needs to be even say you have a cork gasket on an oil pan with 25 bolts 10 ft lbs on each would give you 250 ft lbs of force but if not done in stages evenly you would be snapping bolts and bending the pan and would leak oil from the start .
Spark plugs have seals 5/8 25 lb ft is fine but its not something you are going to get a torque wrench on .

Torque specs on a 1987 Nissan 300 zx 2+2 plenum

If you are referring the the collector the specs are:
Collector cover: 4.3 - 5.8 ft lbs
Collector: 13-16 ft lbs

You should use a torque wrench that is sensitive at low torques. I bought an "inch pound" torque wrench for delicate items like injectors and just convert the foot pounds to inch pounds.

Spark plug torque settings

the torque on the spark plugs for your 2005 Honda Civic. remember to use anti seize on the threads, screw them in by hand to ensure they are not cross threaded, then if you are using an inch lb torque wrench it will be 156 inch lbs. or if a ft lb torque wrench would be 15-16 foot lbs.
