2004 Dodge Neon SXT 2.0 smokes really bad

My car smokes really bad (white smoke) out the tailpipe when i first start it in the morning and after I get off work. If I shut it off for just like 15 or 30 minutes then start it up it won't smoke just when its been sitting for extended periods of time. It smokes for about 1 to 2 mins then stops but it fills up the parking lot with smoke like an old junker car would. Any solutions would be helpful at this point I just can't figure it out.

Your valve stem seals on the valves inside the head are not sealing and oil is leaking past them. That oil falls inot the cylinder of each piston and when the car is started it is burning that off. Replacing the seals are cheap, but the valve springs and valve keepers have to come off to replace them. Also that's a good time to replace the valve cover gasket.

Overheating still has coolant, white part blew out of the tailpipe, made a banging noise then starting smoking. Overheating with all fluid high. Told there was a front seal oil leak but not bad. Lost 2...

  • White smoke out out the tail pipe means you might have just blown your head gasket. White smoke is water (antifreeze) burning with the oil.

2004 dodge neon and white smoke

You probably have a bad head gasket.
To verify this see if the coolant is milky or if there is oil in the coolant reservoir. If so you need a new head gasket . If not you have an oil leak into the combustion chamber.

Approx cost for head gasket w/head cut approx $1500 to$ 2000.

If it turns out to be an oil leak into combustion chamber I really can't project . Need to know whats leaking and why.
Good luck

Why does my honda accord smoke reel bad

This is either worn valve stem seals or worn out oil rings. Have someone follow you if the car smokes more as you release the throttle on deceleration it is most likely valve stem seal if it smokes more on acceleration it is worn oil piston rings. If the smoke is white you have a blown head gasket blue smoke means burning oil, black smoke means too rich (to much gas reaching motor)

Smoke and water from tailpipe

That white color is a tell tale sign of a bad head gasket, when the head gasket goes your coolant mixes with your oil and the burns off causing the white smoke. I hate to give bad news but it's not cheap or easy to replace.

Hope this helps
