Just visit a local garage and they will recaharge it for you. Gor safety reasons this is a job that should only be carried out by a competent mechanic as messing around with the refrigerant is dangerous... it can blind you
It should bot be very costly for a recharge

Ac Blows Hot air.

Check to see if the compressor is coming on by turning on the AC while in park and listening for it. You should also see the RPMs drop a bit when it comes on.

If it is coming on then you just need to recharge the refrigerant. You can pick up a recharge kit from your local auto parts store. It'll cost you about 40-50 bucks. It should come with detailed instructions on how to recharge it, but basically you need to find the low pressure port, hook up the refrigerant bottle and charge it while the AC is running.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Got 95 Audi a6 wagon used. Smell burnt oil after driving, so I guess I have an engine problem. Can non Audi mechanic work on this issue along with transmission and front end possible problems or should I...

Hello. A word to the wise. myself, if I didn't have a good relationship with a local general machanic, I would ask friends, family, and even co-workers if they have a good machanic they can recommend.
The issues you sighted could be caused by a number of things that a good machanic could resolve.
I would start there, and then let that machanic tell you if it's out of his/her ability.
I suggest this primarily because good machanics at local repair shops usually have a labor rate of $40 to $70 per hour, while dealerships are usually well over $120 per hour.
When you drive older cars, as I do, nothing is more important than finding a machanic that you can trust. They are out there, you may need to invest a little time to find them.
I do wish you all the best.

How o you recharge ac regrigerant

hello there:
i would strongly recommend that you to take the car to an a/c repair shop too have the system checked out just because a/c in not working properly doesn't mean that it's low on freon it is really easy to over charge the system and it will perform as if it was to be under charged and you can have the same problem as now or worse it should not cost more than $150 for them to recharge and diagnose the a/c system for any other problem that may be in the system... hope this helps you out please leave a review thanks D.Jones

How do you change ac compressor on a 2000 nissan sentra

hook the high and low sides of the ac to a evac/recharge machine at a repair shop and evacuate the freon. apply a vacuum to the lines. measure how much oil comes out. disconnect the two aluminum lines from the ac pump, remove the serpentine belt, remove the (probably) 4 small long bolts. remove and install new part. reattach lines. do NOT overtighten lines. recharge ac refrigerant to specified ammount. if the pump is new you will have to measure how much oil comes out of it and put in that much oil in the new pump or it will burn up. if you dont have a evac/recharge machine they cost around 3000 dollars.
