what year? if 1996 and newer, first was 1995 , and radically different. but on 96" cars, in USA or 1998 in canada we have obd2 ECU's Puter brains, that means the lamp is on, key on, and turns off running, if it says on running, that means there is a fault stored, and that means you next pull the DTC codes with a scan tool.. this is posted 10,000 times here, and millons more if you google that. so what year, and when does it come on,

no country stated is the reason , most posts on this forum are useless. both the question and all answers.

How to reset the oilchange reset buttom on an avalon limitted 2008

On a 2010 this is how you reset the maintenance due light. Turn the ignition switch to the on position to make sure it is showing odometer not trip (A) or (B) then turn ignition switch off. Hold the odometer button in while turning the ignition switch back to the on position (do not start the engine) and continue to hold until the odometer shows all zero's..oooooo then the maintenance due light should go off when the engine is started.

"Miant reqir" indicator light shows

It's a maintenance reminding you it's due for a maintenance. Check owners manual vs current mileage to see what's required at this mileage.

What does an yellow light showing an oil can with a wrench under the oil can mean

This means your vehicle is due for a regular maintenance visit to the dealership. Light is yellow as caution. The light comes on at maintenance intervals according to the mileage -- when the service has been performed the mechanic resets the light so it will be off until the next maintenance interval is reached.

The maintenance required light is on but no engine or transmission codes show up. What else could be the problem? The oil was just changed. How do I turn the light off?

The maintenance required light does not indicate any problem with the engine or systems like a Check Engine Light (CEL) does. This light is normally a reminder to change the oil. Getting the light to turn off is really easy.

In order, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold down the trip odometer reset button.
2. Turn the key to the on position without starting the engine.
3. Continue to hold down the reset button; The light should go out within 10-15 seconds.

God bless and good luck.

Maintenance required

maintenance may have been done, but your indicator needs to be reset.
How this is done, I don't know. But, you might ask the dealership.

I have a 2008 corolla. It has an auto light when the car needs an oil change. I need to know how to reset it.

Look in your owners manual and go to the part that explains the different symbols on your dash. Look for that service reminder and it should tell you what page to go to to learn more about that. Somewhere there should be some wording to the effect that "When you have your car serviced by a certified Toyota dealer they will reset it for you. In the event that someone other does your maintenance then this is the procedure to reset......."
