Question about 2003 Toyota 4Runner
What is a "recharge" all about? I've never owned a car that needed one. is this for real, or a bunch of bunk to cost me out of pocket? A/C tested just fine 40 days ago during 40,000 mile check up. Suddenly, it dumps a ton of freon and they claim "no leak, just needs a recharge?" I feel like I'm being taken! Please advise on how I can speak smarter to the dealer and make sure my problem is resolved completely!
A recharge is never needed unless there is a leak; the refrigerant does not need to be changed periodically. I believe I would find another technician.
