Question about 2001 Ford Expedition

2001 Ford Expedition Blew Spark Plug, fixed that now won't shift.

My Ford Expedition just blew a spark plug out so I replaced it with a repair kit. Seems to have fixed it but now the SUV will not shift from 1st to 2nd and so on... Does anyone know what's wrong?

Also when I replaced the spark plug, I used a repair kit that came with a sleve which you put in and then put the spark plug in that but it seems a little loose, any suggestions?

On the trans you have a shifting module that might need replace just make sure that the shifting lever is aline with the mark on the shifting module.(Drivers side)
As far as the plug goes you can so thread lock tight to keep it in.

Fix a blown plug on 2001 cbr 600f4

I am assuming you mean spark plug... When you reinstalled the plug, did you torque it (TIGHTEN IT?). .. IF you did and it still blows out, you have damaged the spark plug threads in the head... Take it to a professional mechanic.. it can be repaired, won't be cheap..good luck..

How to replace a cylinder head on 2001 Ford Expedition 4.6 L V8

Actually, rather than replace the head, you can fix the spark plug hole with a "Time-Sert":

One thing they talk about on the site, "Ford spark plug blow-out? Repair kit part number 5553 Ford Triton spark plug kit will repair blown out spark plug's in Ford heads."
Here's the page for Ford's repair kits:

I've used these for years, and they work great!
Much better than a Helicoil, as the Time-Sert retains full thread strength!

But....I would STILL recommend removing the head to do this repair, so as to avoid metal chips/shavings from falling into the cylinder, but you'll save the cost of a new head!

Blew out a spark plug--2000 Ford Eddie Bower edition. V-8

There are several thread repair kits for that

I'm supprised you haven't used the internet
to look at all the info on that problem,do that

TryYou Tube Video also

It went on for about 8 years & Ford never did
a thing about it,just kept selling defective cylinder
heads from 1997 or 98 until 2003,then came out
with the 5.4 - 3 valve V8, that has spark plugs that were two
piece, that broke as well, and an odd ball 9/16 nut to remove them ,as well as fuel injectors in at least 2003,2004 & 2005 that leak & ruin the exhaust converter & in some cases hydraulic
the cylinders & bend rods

A spark plug came out and car is sputtering does this mean i blew a cylinder

No, not necessarily, may have damaged thread in cylinder head for spark plug. Try putting a new spark plug in but screw it in with fingers to make sure thread is not damaged. If it goes in, finally nip it tight with spark plug spanner and try engine again.

2003 Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition 5.4l just made loud pop sound under hood and is now running very badly, Do you think the engine blew??

a spark plug may have stripped out and popped out of the cylinder head. Ford dealers are making lots of money fixing this common problem.

97 ford expedition 5.4 motor blew out spark plug and Agee it was repaired it smokes while at idle with an oil smell

I don't think I've ever seen that happen. But if there was enough pressure or explosion to blow out a spark plug, assuming it was tight. then there is probably internal damage, perhaps to the rings. Have a compression test done on that cylinder and check the spark plug for oil fouling.

Spark plug blew out ,deff stripped think #6 back left 2nd from top

Ford had trouble with spark plugs blowing out on some of their motors. It happened most often on v-10 triton motors though. Ford and some aftermarket companies make a kit to repair this without removing the head. I believe it comes with drill bits, a tap and a helicoil. A call to the ford dealer or a google search for a kit should get you what you need.
