code p0440 refers to evaporative emission (EVAP) system--malfunction=== causes --hose connections --intake leak--EVAP canister purge valve
code po441 refers to EVAP --incorrect flow detected==causes the same as for po440
code po446 refers to EVAP system vent control --circuit malfunction===causes --wiring---EVAP can purge valve--ECM
generally I would replace the purge valve as it is common to all codes
Disconnect the battery cables for about 20 minutes, then touch them together before you reconnect them. This alows the capacitors in the ecm to drain and clears the memory. I hope this helps.
This alarm concerns the function of the EVAP SYSTEM. This system monitors vacuum correctness. If a sufficient vacuum level cannot be achieved, a large leak or a faulty EVAP canister purge solenoid is indicated. It can be caused for the following reasons:
1) Disconnected or faulty fuel tank pressure sensor
2) Missing or faulty fuel cap
3) Disconnected, damaged, pinched, or blocked EVAP purge line.
4) Disconnected or damaged EVAP vent hose.
5) Disconnected, damaged, pinched, or blocked fuel tank vapor line.
6) Disconnected or faulty EVAP canister purge solenoid.
7) Disconnected or faulty EVAP canister vent solenoid.
8) Damaged EVAP canister.
9) Leaking fuel sender O-ring.
10) Leaking fuel tank or fuel filler neck.
CODE PO440 IS EVAP SYSTEM MALFUNCTION CONDITIONS. POSSIBLE CAUSES CHARCOAL CANISTER IS LOADED WITH FUEL OR MOISTURE. FUEL FILLER CAP IS LOOSE CROSS THREADED DAMAGED OR WRONG PART. FUEL TANK FUEL FILLER NECK OR FUEL SENDING UNIT O RING IS LEAKING. FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR IS DAMAGED OR DISCONNECTED.OR FAILED.FUEL TANK VAPOR LINES IS CLOGGED DAMAGED OR DISCONNECTED.PURGE VALVE VAPOR LINE IS CLOGGED DAMAGED OR DISCONNECTED. PURGE OR VENT SOLENOID POWER CIRCUIT IS OPEN CHECK THE FUSE.PCM HAS FAILED.
could be ur o2 sensors or clogged catalytic converter these have a lot to do with emmission sometimes its a bad gas cap number one problem evap get a new one and check code again the cap has a seal that if it leaks gives you evap code
evaporative emission (EVAP) system has a large leak. Check the gas cap or vent valve. these are the most common problems.
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) at different times performs various tests on the EVAP system. OBD II
Enhanced EVAP systems are in place to keep fuel tank vapors from
venting into the atmosphere, and instead purges them into the engine to
be burned. Regular pressure tests are conducted by the PCM to monitor
the sealed system for leaks. The PCM monitors the EVAP system pressure
by watching the Fuel tank pressure sensor (FTP). When the sensor
indicates a small leak in the EVAP system, this code is set.
Here are some additional causes.
* A small leak in any of the EVAP hoses or fuel tank hoses
* A small leak in the purge valve or vent valve
* The EVAP Canister may be leaking
