The rear calibers on german cars usally have to been spun in wards to compress them just like a bmw. the mini cooper should have an x shaped piston in the caliber take a tool that will fit in one of the groves and spin it counterclockwise

Steering wheel locked up

Just a question that might help.
Are the wheels straight or turned at a hard angle? If the wheels are angled turn the steering wheel in the same direction and then try to turn the key with pressure still on the steering wheel. You have to take the pressure off the stop to have the key cylinder turn.
If the wheels are straight have you tried a different key?

Fan speed knob won't turn

Best solution would be to replace entire switch and knob. Hopefully, You can find these at a salvage yard. If not you will have to purchase thru dealership

I had this problem with my car. Is ur hazzard flasher working? if they are working and the turn signals are not working. Try replacing the hazzard light switch. If the hazzard are not working then the combination flasher unit is bad. its what controls the signals and flasher.

Ignition lock up. cannot turn key when inserted.

Have you tried pulling on your steering wheel at the same time you turn the key? Are you up against a curb? Try pulling it both ways. Push gearshift firmly into park and try it. It could be the safety switch in your counsel is faulty.

Key fits into ignition but will not turn

Bad ignition switch. I fixed a problem like that with a 1999 Toyota Sienna. The cylinder is broken in internally. Need the replace tumbler, (just the key part not the electrical part) However it may be hard to get by itself. Good Luck
