I KEEP BLOWING THE IGNITION FUSE EVERY TIME I TURN THE KEY TO START THE ENGINE , IF I DISCONNETED THE DISTRUBUTOR HARNESS IT WILL NOT BLOW THE FUSE THE CAR IS MAZDA PROTEGE 1998 1.8
It sounds like either the wires or module inside the distibutor take the cap off and see if you see anyting melted or any kind of bare wires you can also ohm out the wires checking the resistance that can tell you if you have and open or shorted circuit .a new or used distibutor should fix your problem

Check the power wiring running to the starter for exposed wire or loose insulation. I've run into the same thing on a few Chrysler vehicles where the insulation on the starter wire just melts off and blows fuses like crazy

Are you using the same power feed from the old radio? If so, your new radio may require a higher current fuse. Check the manufacturers information the came with the custom radio and make certain the current (amps) required is the same.
If the new radio has a higher power amplifier for increased audio, it will blow a low rated fuse.
On the other hand, it sounds as though you may have pinched the power feed wire in the radio bracket, trim cover or have it resting agaist a sharp bracket. So when you put the car in drive, the dash flexes enough to cause the short.
Does it blow the fuse when you shift to reverse?
let me know.

Engine 1 fuse powers the computer and some sensors. I had this same problem on a 98 chevy van 3500 and found the wire going to one of the oxygen sensors had shorted out on the heat shield. Inspect the wires going to all of the oxygen sensors. On this van one of the oxygen sensors on the driverside the wire was laying on the heat shield which eventually rubbed through the wire and shorted it out blowing the fuse. Your short could be on a different sensor but check all of the oxygen sensors because the wire runs so close to the sharp heat shield.

It MUST be the starter relay coil - or the power wire that feeds it. Likely a short in the relay coil (AKA starter selenoid).
