Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
2000 vw beetle turbodiesel. Just replaced timing belt/waterpump, etc. Drove 100 miles highway speeds, drove perfect, had cruise control on and suddenly engine turned off and would not start. Upon inspection, belt did not break, lifters blown and valves bent. What went wrong?
They set the timing WRONG and that is an interference motor so the valves hit the pistons
