Hesitation on takoff and on acceleration

The car has a hesitation on takeoff and on acceleration. We were told that it might be the fuel filter. How hard is the fuel filter to replace? This car has 292,00 miles on it.

This car has never had any major repairs to it. The only problem it has had was an oil leak. It still has the original fuel pump.

It could be one of many things with that many miles on the vehicle. when if ever did you change the fuel pump last? both filter and pump may need to be changed. that's alot of miles remember that. the filter is under the hood on the drivers side mounted on the firewall. under the brake master cylinder. be careful to relieve the fuel pressure before changing it.

1-Replace fuel filter.
2-Clean injectors
Most of the time an hesitation on acceleration is due to fuel.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2005 Nissan Altima.....also, what are the symptoms of a bad filter or pump?

The fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump on a 2005 nissan altima. The fuel pump is under the back seat. You must remove the bottom cushion on the driver side. Before removing the fuel pump you must remove the negative battery cable and relieve fuel pressure. trouble with filters hesitation in starts could be some bogging and when acceleration poor fuel output but it depends on what ur car is doing?some of these same symptoms could be duel to idle air conrol valve controls idle and hesitation in acceleration

My 2001 galant hesitates on acceleration. changes plugs oil air filter etc.. any thoughts?

a faulty tps sensor will cause hesitation on acceleration.also a loose or broken place in air duct to throttle body will cause hesitation.also clogged fuel injectors and fuel filter.to save money have car scanned.if you have a faulty tps.the scanner will tell you.
