Hi,

I would check n replace the fuel filter if needed. Also, it could be one of the spark plugs. Was it running before? Can you think of anything that happened or changed recently?

What would make a 1988 2.5L celebrity crank an run some time but other times have to spray starter fluid in injection to start

Having to spray starter fluid is an indication of lack of fuel. Possible restricted fuel filter or fuel pump getting bad. If the problem occurs in the AM when vehicle is cold and is started for the first time, there may be an issue with the coolant temp sensor providing inaccurate information to the computer. Have the computer scanned and monitor operating parameters of the sensors to help isolate the cause of the problem

WOULD NOT CRANK CHANGED STARTER NOW CRANKS BUT WILL NOT RUN

Something intermittent is wrong with your fuel delivery system - fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, check valve.. If it always starts when you use starting fluid that eliminates spark/igniter issues. Check all electrical connections in fuel delivery components.

If the ecm is touchy it might not be sending the signal for the injectors to shoot gas into cylinders.

But I think you have a bad connection somewhere along the line.
BTW, great car - have one also. But my dealer sucks.

Think i have a vacum leak on my 1996 chev s10

I have found vac. leaks by taking a can of starter fluid and lightly spraying the hoses you suspect are bad, do one at a time and see if the engine revs. up, if it does you have a vac. leak close to where you sprayed the starting fluid.......Hope that helps...

1999 Chevy S10 4.3L starting Problem... My truck doesn't start after it has sat for a while, usually after it sits overnight. Typically it starts after a little starting fluid.

It sounds like the fuel drainback valve is allowing fuel pressure to bleed off overnight. In some cases you can add an external one, in others a new fuel pump is required to be installed, check with your favorite mechanic.

My 94 s10 blazer won't run it starts runs for about 15mins dies won't start back with out spraying starter fluid or if I let it sat for few hours

Have you tried a new fuel filter? not an inline filter but the main one, then check the pump, is it hot to touch when the vehicle cuts out? it may be ready to fail completely if its hot and wont give enough fuel feed for the engine when the auto choke switches off. Try that first before going any further.

Hey, my 1997 Bmw 328I is idleing irratically

Hi Paula, Had same problem with mine, use a can of throttle cleaner.Disconnect air intake from the air filter to the last clamp.Start car (get help) spray into intake and don't be shy about how much you spray. Rev car moderately, car will stall, and just keep repeating the process. You should see black type fluid running out, when it stops you stop.

98 gmc jimmy would not start cold unless i spray starting fluid

THOSE VEHICLES HAVE A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP THAT WILL ONLY START IF IT REACHES 60 PSI OR MORE.. BUT ONCE IT IS RUNNING REQUIRES LESS PRESSURE.... MAKE SURE THE FUEL PRESSURE WHEN STARTING EXCEEDS 60 PSI OR IT WILL NOT START...
