It may not neccessarily be starving for fuel, but may be begging to exhale. Your catalytic converter may be clogged. This will cause a loss of power.

Fuse blown which fuse is for cigarette lighters in the car

The fuse panel or fuse block, may be in the glove box.
Each fuse that you see is described to be for one or more circuits,and the amp rateings of each fuse in the circuit,is on the fuse itself.On Olds cars the Cigar liter is a 20 amp, and for that circuit only! It will be labled near the fuse. Pul it out and look at it if the fuse looks burned replace it, if it looks good,check both sides of it with a test lite,with ignition on! Both sides should have Battery voltage!

1997 achieva, seems to have fuel system problem, where is the best place to begin on solving problem?

Change the fuel filter,if this does not help,have a fuel pressure check done on the fuel pump,it may be weak.

sounds like the fuel pressure regulator,also make sure the fuel pump and sending unit are working properly. happened to 99 olds of mine! good luck

I have a 1997 olds achieva that has loss of power and acts and feels like its starving for fuel. today i found one of the rubber o-rings on one of the fuel injectors severly damaged. could this cause my...

definetly, you have to check injectors electrically as well as physical condition, also the harness for injectors is a common cause check for a break in the wires take your time go through harness little a time checking for cracked wires.

Loss of power 2.4 dohc

FIRST THING IS TO CHANGE FUEL FILTER! Also have fuel pump checked and have a compression test done.
