The relays are probably under the hood of your car .. if your hearing a noise coming from the door it is usually the solonoid trying to lock or unlock the door ..the solonoids are the device that kicks the lock on or say you have only one locking or just what was going on . if you hear the solonoid kicking then that means you have power to there. how many doors are not working or how many are ? let me know and thanks Jerry ..

I can't find the fuse for the power windows on a 1998 Lincoln Navigator

All the other windows work ? Not a fuse , one fuse powers all the windows . Test for B+ voltage at the switch an the window regulator would be the proper diagnostic procedure . Do you own a volt meter ? know how to read a wiring diagram ? how to do basic automotive electrical testing . The Faint click you hear is probably a relay , which means the GEM - genaric electronic modual is energizing the window relay . The windows are computer controlled .

The GEM will activate the OTD Relay until one of the following conditions is met:
  • The LF regulator control switch is pushed to the UP position.
  • The LF regulator control switch is released (OFF position) and then moved to the down position (first detent) or one touch down (OTD) position (second detent).
  • Seven seconds have elapsed since the OTD was initiated.
  • A window regulator electric drive stall condition is detected on the one touch down sense line inputs.
The UP window operation is not controlled by the GEM. The feature is activated when the delayed accessory is active and the LF window regulator control switch is pressed to the UP position. The switch provides delayed accessory power to one side of the motor and ground to the other side through the one touch down relay. The one touch down relay is not active when the LF regulator control switch is in the UP position.
Passenger windows may be raised or lowered using the LF master control switches or the appropriate passenger window switch. Passenger window switches receive power when the delayed accessory relay is active and the LF remote lock-out switch is in the UNLOCK position. When in the LOCK-OUT position, the passenger windows are deactivated.
The GEM controls manual down and auto down window movement with the down window relay. The relay is activated by applying ground directly to one side of the down window relay coil, and deactivated by removing the ground signal.
The delayed accessory relay provides power for the operation of the power windows and the power moon roof. The delayed accessory feature is active when the ignition switch is in the RUN or the ACC position, or when the ignition switch is changed from RUN or ACC to the OFF/LOCK position and the LF and RF doors are closed.
The GEM will deactivate the delayed accessory feature when:
  • the LF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • the RF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • 10 minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch was changed from ACC or RUN to the OFF/LOCK position.
Feature inputs:
  • LF door open warning switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
  • RF door open warning switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
  • Ignition switch RUN position (battery potential on both the RUN and RUN/ACC inputs).
  • Ignition switch ACC position (battery potential on the RUN/ACC input).
  • Ignition switch OFF/LOCK position (absence of battery potential on the RUN, RUN/ACC, and START inputs).

All passenger window not working, the driver side window works fine. Also hear a click sound on the corresponding passenger window when controlled from the driver side switches. when the window lock is...

Had the same problem, it was the connector between the door and car. You can check by pulling the boot back, disconnect and reconnect. I spend 2 hours diagnosing with a meter to find a 1 minute fix.

All of the passenger window are not working (probably the issue started at the same time), do not roll down or up, no issues with the driver window. Driver side switch for all the passenger windows makes a...

windows (all) power windows. its a fuse. blown.
this is in the operators guide, lost?

fuses that look bad , are
fuses that look good, can be bad, (tiny cracks. ) we never assume we tests them.
and the FSM covers this, why fix cars, FSM free,?
or go to and read that. its all there, and the full schematic for your car 50 pages. just on schem.
im looking now...for you..... tick tock tick tock ok. 30seconds
and ...
usa mode is unique as is 4 door, so i guess..
4 fuse, under dash, fuse #24,25,26,27.
the fuse box door relay is control by the DCMU.
door metrix control unit (brain)
if the relay dont click the relay is bad, or the DCMU is bad, or the inputs to the DCMU are fibbing (rules of computers apply)
if all are dead its not the door motors.

pin 10 must be 12v. at all times, even key out.
pin 3 goes to 0vdc energize the relay, if not the relay will be dead.
when you actvate any window switch this pin3 goes low.

there are 5 switches , and one called main, this switch must work
or all is dead. (really its a parent switch blocking kids)
this switch if not closing, kills the other 3 switches dead,
it holds 0v , to do that. a ground,
any switch stuck my cause the DCMU to go funky, as is with many computers, the unit might just dummy up (GIGO rules)
GIGO in computer parlance is "garbage in , nets,. garbage out)
is always possible.
keep in mind most makers dont publish the truth table. (sigh)
the brings us to the captains seat.
one trick is to unplug all non drivers (captain switch) and see if captain switch now works,
if yes, bingo on others. bad, retest to find bad one.
the drivers switch has 5 modes, and 8 wires
my book does not show the logic on these, but id bet a real FSM does.
try ON postion and test all other doors,
the try autodown, does driver window drop?
my book is weak,
but above might help.

95 Camry Electric Door Locks Won't Work

It could still be the relay, if the solenoid is working but the contacts are faulty. There are also several other places in the circuit which could cause this. Follow the diagnostics from p90 on, here

Driver side door won't lock electronically

very common problem is the door lock actuator. i would recommend replace that. a good idea also would be to remove the door panel and check all the rods that connect to the assembly and make sure one didnt pop off.

Camry 1996 automatic power lock doen't work, but windows work.

if you can here relays when unlocking/locking check for power at door lock actuators inside doors, if you have power on lock/unlock and good earth from connector actuators are faulty.
if no power on test light when operating check output from central door lock module while operating, none coming out of module then it might need replacing.
check 30Amp power fuse for main relay under bonnet (which goes to pin 8 white/blue on module)and 10Amp gauge fuse in cab(pin 1 blue/red on module),pin 15 is also power when relay is on(red/blue) with test light, and module/ actuators.
check outputs from module pin 3 & 4
that go to door locks
