It had 2 cats original but I always got a better exhaust sound by taking one out.

My engine is leaking water behind the thermostat and around the water pump..the water pump is new...what can i do?

You would have a 2.9 in this vehicle witch is exactly the same as a 2.8 except the heads are slightly larger and the bore . I could give a simple answer you have a colant leak but i know the engine so why do you have a leak . I need to ask a few questions like what dose the antifreeze look like is it green or brown and when was the last time it was replaced and the system flushed .How did the work on the vehicle you or someone else and how dose the radiator work along with the recovery tank . The most likely cause sounds to me like a radiator problem like its clogged and pressure is building up in the system and causeing the leak . However i would need more information to say for sure pier.j@sbcglobal.net

Why does my 1988 Ford bronco misses when warm

you could have a bad plug that only shows up when warm or plug wire, distributer cap may have a small crack in it that when warm expands and causes a miss.it could be a valve that is sticking when warm or even carbon build up on the back of the valves, this usually happens when cold but have seen it when warm.a fuel system service will clean the system and carbon build up on the back of the valves.a compression test when warm should let you know if its a sticking valve or if someone that knows how to read an engine scope can see it in the pattern on the scope.

Automatic trans. only revers no fowerd fluid leavel ok 87 ford bronco 2 shift linkage seems ok. 4wd.

Drain the tranny

Pull the pan and look for metal shavings - you may have lost your planetary gears. If so, you need a new tranny or have this one rebuilt.

Did the 87 ford bronco come stock with a steering damper? Steering is all over the road and i noticed when i sarted looking around that i didnt see a steering stablizer shock.

NO THEY DID NOT COME WITH A DAMPER, IF U ARE ALL OVER THE ROAD YOU MOST LIKELY HAVE WORN PARTS OR FRONT END ALIGN ISSUES OR TIRE ISSUES, HAS ALL THIS BEEN CHECKED? LET ME KNOW.

check the Wiper motor and the switch. go over all the fuses in the fuse box as well. everything is well linked together. have someone check the wiper relay (which may be on the fuse block).

Actually its an 87 but still a bronco

looks like you burnt the fuseable link from the alternator . you need to check the voltage at the back of the alternator on the red heavy wire with the battery fully charged and key off you should have battery volts at this terminal and if there is voltage you need to put a load on that wire with a 12 volt light bulb. . the bottom line is your charging system isnt working . so we need to find where it has lost its connection. let me know if this doesnt work and ill send a wiring diagram with directions.

Oil presure issues

It is located on the bottom of the motor inside the low side of the oil pan. (pan has to be removed to gain access). And to remove the pan you may have to remove the exhaust. It's gonna be a project.

Good Luck

Hope this helps
