2007 passat key went through wash

My 2007 passat boxy key went through the wash, I assume this key would be waterproof, but still not just a metal key so I'm not sure if it would have been damaged at all in the wash

Key for 2000 528i went though washing machine; after I hung it over a lamp bulb for a few hours, it worked; now, nothing

if that key no longer works but another key with the proper chip in it does then your only real choice is to replace the damaged key. Unfortunately, the waterproofing on these newer keys doesn't always work as well as it should. Even though you took steps to dry the key out the water may have damaged the contacts.

Battery in key died. Put new ones in, alarm is not responding and can't roll down windows, start car or turn on interior lights/ 2000 passat

Hello! On the 2007 Passat you must pry the cover off of the manual key slot... Observe from the bottom there is a slot... Place the key in the slot, at the same time pry from the bottom and the whole cap will come off revealing the keyhole... With a good fob put power to the car but do not start the engine... With a manual key, lock the door...Now press the fob you are trying to train twice... It should take the code...Unlock the door, remove the good fob and test the new fob...

How do I change a dipped beam headlight bulb on a 06 passat

I've just changed one in my Passat, if your car is fitted with projector lense dipped lights, here's how....
1, switch off all lights and ign.
2, remove rubber waterproof cap from rear of lamp.
3, reach in and pull the bulb and it's connector out, it is held in place by 3 spring prongs, (space is very tight but it can be done with a little patience).
4. remove the old bulb from the connector.
5. making sure not to touch the glass area of the new bulb, fit it to the connector.
6. install the bulb into the rear of the lense with the tab pointing downwards, it may require a little wriggling to get it located,
7. once the bulb is located in the rear of the lense, push gently untill you hear a click, bulb is now locked into position.
8. refit the rubber waterproof cap.
9. test your lights.
10. if working, enjoy a nice mug of coffee. (I did)
Good Luck

After car wash, brakes made a screeching noise. How do I get rid of this? It sounds like metal rubbing against metal so I haven't moved it.

SOUNDS LIKE U HAVE METALLIC PADS. TOTALLY NORMAL. THE PADS WILL BED IN AND THE SCREECHING SOUND WILL GO AWAY. SUGGEST U GET A BETTER NON-METALLIC PAD INSTALLED IF U DON'T WANT TO HEAR SCREECHING NOISES EVERY TIME THE PADS GET WET. I'M ALSO ASSUMING U HAVE NO MORE THAN 50,000 MILES ON THE PADS AND THE PADS AND DISCS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE.
