i cleaned out the fuel rails nothing came out of them, and for the compression i did that first it did 85psi then i put a bottle of restor in with the oil change and bam!!! 110psi. and all the other one are between 110 and 130 so it is in the ball park. i changed both O2 sensors today so we will see how that goes i read that on another website. so wish me luck

ya i now it is a little low but there are also two other cylinders that blow 110 number 1 and 3 and i dont have codes poping up for them i heard that there is a modual in the distributer that can sometimes go bad that could be causing it also, hae you heard of this?

  • Ryan Power Apr 28, 2009

that is what is crazy i get 19 mpg highway and the truck sounds nice no miss it is weird.

  • Ryan Power Apr 29, 2009

when the compression was at 85psi it had a bit of a miss but after i used the restore engine treatment and it went up to 110psi now it runs good and gets 19mpg.

    You have serious engine problem.

Number 6 cylinder is low 110 PSI doesn't get it (ihave this engine in my truck as well, it has 150+ in each cylinder), 140-150 is normal, u must have a scored cylinder or a leaking valve. This is the cause of the code, which will continue to come back, u most likely won't pass smog either.

Perhaps the compression guage u used has a defective schrader valve, if the compression was that low it would run bad, and mileage would not be 19 MPG. Glad to hear all is well.

My 1999 lexus es300 is still reading the codes P0300, P0302,P0303 after giving it a tune up.

Your codes indicate misfires. What was done in the "tune up"? Misfires can be caused by any of several different causes including (but not limited to):
spark plugs
spark plug wires
coil packs
injectors
injector wires

The term "tune up" used to mean, "replace points, condenser, distributor cap and rotor, and plugs". Since most cars no longer have points, condenser, distributor cap and rotor, we need to ask what was done...

1998 dodge ram 2500 5.9 360 ci . Truck was running fine when i parked it at night, went to start it the next day and all it did was turn over but wouldnt fire, Fuel pump comes on with key in on position...

You have not run a OBD2 electronic engione control fault code test, get a code reader and do that first and don't replace anymore parts until that is done and you have the fault codes and have done the proper diagnostics for each code.

Need some more info on some diagnostic codes that came up on my truck & how to fix them. P0137 o2 sensor, P0300 random multi miss, P0303 cylinder 3, P0306 cylinder 6, P0307 cylinder 7

Replace your O2 Sensor and Spark Plug Wires. If you still have the Random Misfire, replace your Spark Plugs, then Replace your Distributor Cap and Rotor. If you still have the Random Misfire you may have a Timing Problem, or Ignition Coil problem.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4wd and three codes came up P 300 p 301 and p 308 what are these ??? help please!!

The codes mean as follows
PO300 multiple cylinder misfires
PO301 #1 cylinder misfire
PO308 #8 cylinder misfire
Some of the more common causes for these codes popping at once are, if you went through a big
puddle and the engine and wires are wet or the distributor cap and/or wires are bad or the camshaft
sensor(located inside dist cap) is bad and sending false signals. Hope this helps.

Connecting code scanner to 2007 chry 300 & 95 dodge 1/2 ton ram

Most obd2 connection ports are under the driver side dash and can be visible without removing any panels. On some chrysler Daimler vehicles you do have to remove a panel to access this service port. If its not located under the dash then it will be located under the hood on the driver side and be capped off and labeled obd2 scan tool service. Simply plug your wire in with the key on and the engine not running and read the codes from your vehicles on board computer/ecm/bcm. Hope this helps. Good luck.

1999 Dodge ram 1500 Cylinder 8 Misfire

Do not dress the spark plug wires to make them look pretty. The spark plug wires on must cross each other at right angles every place they cross. They cannot be run side by side, or the engine will crossfire.

Any tricks to changing the distributer cap on a 1999 Dodge Ram 1

believe it or not it can be done .....but its no fun even for me and I do it for a living . No tricks , just do it , do a search for "dodge tsb plug wire routing diagram" so you can get the plug wires back the way they are supposed to be and not cause more trouble . I'm not talking about firing order.....they have a problem of crossfiring if you get two of the wrong wires close together.
