1997 Mustang GT Convertible POWER SEAT PROBLEM

My powered drivers seat will move up, down and forward but not back. It used to do all four. Before I buy a new switch (on the front of the seat) which is non-refundable from the dealership, anyone have any idea whether the switch would be the problem or whether it would or could be somewhere else (in the wiring or something). Thanks for any advice. I have a similar problem but my seat can go forward, backward, up and down, however the front part of the seat tilts up. I see that there is 2 hinges on the side however they keep opening causing the seat to tilt back, How can I fix this issue and where can i get a diagram or picture of the driver seat under bracket for a 99 mustang convertible.

Why doesn't driver's power seat move forward or back?

All those seat motors are under the seat. The forward and back motor has cables that are used to move the seat. If a plug are cable came loose, easy to find. Can be a pain to fix. Not much room to work. Some times the seat has to come out. I think I would be more worried to what damage is on the bottom of the car first. Just saying.

How do i remove the back seat to my 2000 ford mustang gt convertible?

On the seat bottom left and right of center there's a release clip. (see photo) Carefully push the release with a flat screw driver and pull up doing one side at a time.
Once the seat bottom is removed there's 2 bolts holding the seat back in place, remove the bolts and lift the seat back straiting up.

How to remove front bolts in Mustang GT electric seat when it is stuck all the way forward and covers bolt heads?

Once I had this problem and had to strip the wires under the seat and hook them up to another power source ((Your Battery)) Find the wire that moves the seat back and strip the wire, then hook it up to a seperate wire leading to the battery ((I used jumper cables)) If successful the seat will move back and you'll be able to remove your seat.

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.
