No power to blower motor on grey wire

I have a 97 cadillac sts. Recently was driving with ac on and heard a pop and then smelt something burning. The ac stopped during all this. Checked blower motor and it was getting power from hot wire but the grey wire wasnt getting any power to it. Any suggestions where to start? thanks Bryan

I would say the blower motor resistor has gone out. The front dash module or the rear one.

Could be the blower motor or the blower motor resistor. Take the blower motor out, power it and see if it works, if it does then replace the resistor.

I was driving with my vent fan on for about three hours when I smelt burning. Then I lost power in my steering and pulled over. I had it looked at and they said it was my batteries which I replaced. Now...

Sounds like you lost your blower motor and or blower/resistor components, have it tested by an reputable repair sho[p and have them give you an estimate to give you a heads up before fixing it.
Hope this works!!

Follow the wires from the blower motor back to the blower motor resistor, normally only a few inches away and held in by a 7 mm screw. Replace it

Heater AC Problem 99 Escalade

On the passengers side under the dash you will find the blower motor. You might have to remove a panel.By the blower motor there is a blower motor resistor module that gets hot and will melt the connector to the blower motor.Check this area out and if it is melted you need to replace the resistor and the connector. You should be able to get one from the dealership.Hope this helps.Good luck.

A.C compressor reads off on my dash. Also I refilled my refriderant and it didnt work. I own A 97 Cadillac Seville STS.

If it builds up too much pressure in the system it will shut off compressor. May be an AC pressure switch problem if compressor does not even come on.

Blower motor isnt workin still

did you test the motor from an outside 12 volt sorce? or did you plug it in the car wireing? after you got it in and found it did not work, have you test light the power wire for motor in car to see if its got good light or if its weak light. There is a chance you got a bad motor. or its not getting full power from car wireing. I believe thies heating systems work thru the ac systems. i'am gussing is a climent control heating.

The temperature blend door on the driver's side might be broken or stuck. Also, if this vehicle does not have the correct amount of refrigerant, it will do what you are describing.
