Question about 2002 Ford Taurus
I work with a fleet of cars and a few of them happen to be 2002 ford taurus. Now I have had two of these taurus have the same problem and no one knows why or what to do. What happens is the car will drive fine at first. No problems what so ever. The problem occurs at times when you shut the engine off after running for about half an hour. Then when you go to restart the vehicle it will crank but not fire up. Some times if you let it sit for a bit it will fire but run real rough and then die. But always if you go to start the car the next day it fires right up. Mechanics can't find the problem because it leaves no codes. I think one thing that is consistant about the problem is that it tends to happen in warmer weather. We are ready to get rid of these cars. If you have any sugestions I'd greatly appriciate it. Thank you.
They are vapor locking ive seen this on fords many times ,take the fuel caps off and clean out the little holes in them, or replace them or leave them a little lose!!!!
