Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
The Speedometer will work but sometimes it will stay at the speed you were going when you stop. To solve this i have to turn the vehicle on and off several times to get it to go down by 5 mph
The speedometer is operated by a small motor called a stepper motor.. These motors are known to get bad in the 03-05 chevrolets. You will either have to take it to someone who knows how to replace them or you will have to learn like I did and tear it appart and remove the motor from behind the neadle with a very small soldering iron and replace it for about 6 bucks...There are people on the internet that you can send your dash to and they will replace all the motors in your cluster for about 150.00.. or you can order these motors for about 5-6 bucks each and do it yourself if you are good with mechanics. You have to remove the dash cluster and use a fork gently remove the neadles on each of the guages and then remove the front of the guages and remove the cluster to where you can get to the back of the cluster where the motors are you will see they are soldered to a printed circuit and have to be unsoldered and replaced with new motors which have the pins on them to solder to and other side has a pin to put your neadles back on to .. holler if you need any help if you decide to do it .. thanks jerry ....
