Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler

2 Answers

Trouble starting I have a 95 jeep wrangler with a 4 cylinder engine. In order for me to start it, I have to leave the key in the on position for about 2 minutes or so until I hear a loud clicking sound which in turn will engage the fuel pump. I have changed the Starter, battery, relay switches, and disconnected my alarm and I still can not figure out the problem. Can someone help?

It is probably the ECU / ECM. I had the same problem. Replaced everything and that last. Of course thats what it was. You can pick one up on Ebay- the company name is ECUEXCHANGE. They offer a warranty. The only place I found and they had the best price. Though they are rebuilds. Good Luck!

Sounds like your fuel pump is about to go bad. when you turn the key on, it engages the fuel pump for about 3 seconds. If you cycle the key on and off for 3-4 times it should create enough fuel pressure to start the jeep. Try it. Let me know.

1989 jeep wrangler starts jumping and backfiring

Start with the basics...meaning check the spark plug wires and spark plugs. While under the hood, inspect all hoses for a vacuum leak(s). Then turn the ignition key on-off-on-off- on...leave in the on position and write down the number of flashes the check engine light indicates....2 flashes = #2....pause.....3 flashes = #3.
Let start from here. Are you able to perform engine repairs or diagnostics???

Staring issue... 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4 cylinder(manual tran). recently I've noticed that in the morning or after it's sat for while, when I turn the key the engine cranks for a couple of seconds before...

instead of cranking, just leave key on for a minute...if there isn't a delay starting after that it may be a bad drainback valve in the pump. You can either live with it for a while or replace pump...but check that it's not an injector leaking into engine first.(usually if that's the case, leaving key on will lengthen start time and give a puff of black smoke on startup)

95 jeep wrangler: gauge indicates 0 oil pressure

Wire on oil sending unit may have fallen off or sensor itself may have gone bad. Check both. If engine has no tapping noises, likely it's not a pressure problem.
