Most chevy 5.3 do not use a cap and rotor. Most have single coil per spark plug and wire. Trace spark plug wires to coil usually above the valve cover.

I'm guessing that since you have covered so many electrical ignition parts maybe the problem is fuel related. Is this carb or throttle body? Either way I would start to head in this direction. When the engine is running can you stand by with a can of starting spray and squirt it into "carb" when it starts to die? Maybe you can keep it running with the spray which would prove whether or not it is fuel related. Good luck!

Not sure where you can find a picture besides a repair manual, but the sensor is located on the pass side of the car below where the lower radiator hose hooks up to the engine, look straight down you will see a sensor with three wires going into it, two 10mm bolts hold it down.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 chevy
You only need one ignition hot for this. Look on the coil cover and it will say BAT and TACH above the plugin. Hook to BAT. Make sure your vacuum is hooked to a constant vacuum (manifold runner is best).
