Question about 1995 Buick LeSabre

My car stops and then starts up again.

I had a fuel pump strainer and fuel filter. I also put on the oxygen sensor. Need elp. It stops also while I have to wait in traffic for a while.

try finding a mechanic with an old style oscilliscope tune machine so you can actually see what the mixtures and spark are like running i suspect cam or crank angle sensors

My 1kz prado is not starting opened the injector nozzle no fuel comes when engine is cranked. Had a diagnosis fault fuel control sensor relay changed it but still no fuel come on the nozzle. Please advise...

When you switch the ignition on, you should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds, then stop. What the system is now waiting for is the crank angle sensor input, to tell it to run the pump again. If you have a crank angle sensor problem (or immobiliser problem) the pump will not switch on again, so no fuel pressure. You need to establish if the pump runs and builds fuel pressure when you crank. Pump runs, but no pressure? No fuel getting into pump, out of fuel, or strainer blocked up, pump unit worn out.

What would be wrong with my truck, i was driving one day and it dyed..i tryed to start it again and it woulkd run and drive but only let me go 20k, could it be my fuel filter????or what could it be????

Vehicles: Any vehicle unable to achieve highway speeds.

I agree with your assessment - the fuel system is almost always the culprit when a vehicle cannot exceed a given speed.

Priority Checks: fuel pump function has gone marginal, fuel filter clogged, in-tank fuel strainer clogged, fuel pressure regulator failure, fuel rail leaking, fuel injector electrical harness/connectors loose, faulty fuel injector(s)

Secondary causes: CKP (crankshaft position sensor), CMP (camshaft position sensor), ECC (Engine Control Computer)

Tertiary Checks: Oxygen sensor(s), catalytic converter plugged

Faulty sensor(s) or ECC would cause immediate performance problems/speed limitations due to engine mis-timing. Whereas fuel system problems would limit the vehicle's performance by limiting the fuel available to the engine.
A plugged catalytic converter (or other exhaust system constriction) would limit engine performance by restricting the ability of the engine to properly exhaust.

Car wont start. replaced fuel pump (twice), fuel filter, fuel strainer, tested starter, replaced crank sensor, replaced computer. can put fuel directly into intake and will start.

Definitely not a knock sensor.

Just to clarify, you spray starting fluid in the intake and it will start and run for a short time and then stall?

My 1999 grand prix stalls and dies at stops.

My Pontiac Grand Prix is also a 99, it has 216,+ thousand miles on it, it runs great, idles good, I need to replace the oxygen sensor tho as it shuts off on me while driving or sometimes coming to a stop. You might try checking the fuel filter and pump as well.

the fuel pump could actually be malfunctioning. and the reason that you are able to restart and drive again is because when you turn the key on it is allowing the fuel pump to pressureize your system. but while the fuel pump is continuasly running it is loosing the fuel pressure. this is common on the cheap fuel pumps. i am not sure about were you got the fuel pump from but in all of my experiances with this problem i find that the fuel pumps have been boughten at a napa store.
i hope this helps you out.
and you could attach a fuel pressure gauge on to the fuel rail and start the car and watch the pressure to see if it is droping.

Change the fuel filter, check the fuel pressure, then pull the tank and replace the pump if the pressure is below spec.

1997 chev runs but seems like not getting enough fuel.

Marshall, Before going to the expense of replacing the fuel pump, I would recomend a fuel pressure check. If you do not have the equipment, take it to your favorite mechanic and ask them to check. The pumps and strainers run between $180 to $400 depending if reconditioned, new and brand.

its the electrical connection at he fuel pump,if this is ok ask if they replaced the strainer on your fuel pump,your fuel pump is inside your gas tank ,you have to drop the tank to service,most fuel pumps are not warrantied if you dont change the strainer,when your car shuts off the sediment on the strainer falls back into the tank,but when you run your car and it sucks up the gas thru the strainer to the pump it clogs the strainer and the fuel pump cant pump,you shoiuld find out if they changed this because your forcing your fuel pump to work harder,was it a new fuel tank or used one that they put in
