front seal, axle seal" pan gasket? How big is a fish? Price always depends on location more than the component price when dealing with stuff like seals. (a $1.00 seal can cost $500 to replace!)

A leaking automatic transmission, is that sign of major trouble for an 89 Wrangler Jeep?

How long has it been leaking? If the transmission ran low on fluid for some time, that could lead to big trouble. If it was kept above the add mark at all costs, then a seal or gasket should end your worries.
The location of the leak is important. If it happens to be a front shaft seal that leaks (fluid would be gathered behind the lower inspection plate, on the bottom front of the transmission), then the transmission would have to be pulled out to replace that seal. But other leaks like a pan gasket leak is pretty easy to fix.

Rear main seal (slow) leak on a acura 95 legend. how soon should it be fixed and how much will it cost?

With any leak it should be fixed as soon as possible as far as cost, that will depend on teh shop you take it to and which method they use to replace it. They typically have 2 options, pull the transmission and replace it from the outside or pull the motor and replace the seal. Typically a Transmission shop will charge you about $600 to $800 to remove and install a Transmission plus the cost of the part and the labor to install the new seal.

I have a 2000 beetle turbo and just notices it is leaking oil from around the plug which is tight and seeping transmission fluid. Is this going to be a costly fix?

OIL LEAK AROUND THE SPARKS PLUGS COULD BE LEAKING VALVE COVER GASKETS ALLOWING OIL TO SEEP BY GASKET FLOW DOWN AROUND SPARK PLUGS.TRANSMISSION LEAK IS NOT VERY EXPENSIVE LONG AS TORQUE CONVERTER SHAFT SEAL NOT LEAKING WHICH TRANSMISSION HAS TO DROPPED OUT TO REPLACE SHAFT SEAL.IF TRANSMISSION LEAK AROUND FRONT AXLE SEAL IT MAY COST A LITTLE.BUT PAN GASKET LEAK OR OIL COOLER LINES WONT COST TOO MUCH NOT HARD TO GET TO REPAIR.PHONE AROUND GET PRICE CHECKS.

Cost of labor depends on the problem. You could have a bad seal at the speedometer adapter, bad output seat for the drive shaft, a bad pan gasket, loose cooler line, ect.... Take it to a qualified mechanic for a look and estimate.

I am looking to buy a 1994 Toyota land cruiser. IT looks like there is a small oil leaks and a transmission fluid leak. The oil leak could be either an oil pan leak, rear seal, or valve covers. The...

Could be quite costly. Especially the rear main seal on the engine. You have to take the trans out to even get to it. I would look for something else with less problems to buy.

Leaking seal cost to fix?

which engine? if it's a 4.0L the seal is in the rear main bearing cap...I have seen people do a replacement without removing crankshaft but have never seen one done this way that worked. If leak is small, try some lucas sealer...It softens the seal and swells it a bit. Also use oil for high mile engines afterwards...that too contains a conditioner.
(cheper to try this than removing engine)
Good luck!!! If engine is not 4.0 check back with me and I'll tell you what I think. I didn't mention cost because engine removal is a lot of $$$

Manual Transmission Filter?

The Borg Warner T-5 manual transmission has no filter. Assuming the leak is not really the rear main seal of the engine leaking, which is more likely, then it leaking from the front of the transmission. You will need to drop the transmission to get to the front seal on the first motion shaft. Unless you are really mechanically inclined or have a friend who is, leave it to a good shop.
