Throttle position sensor sounds like it's malfunctioning.

That's normal; this protects your engine from over-rev damage.

1989 Ford F150. Truck will rev up when in park. Put it in drive and have the gas pedal all the way down to the floor and it won't have hardly any power and wants to die. Just replaced the ignition...

if it ran good before, i would go back to area and double check for any vacuum lines that knocked lose, or any wires that may had been moved to gain access to the distributor

2000 pontiac grand am 3.4 motor auto trans 4 door.Car starts and drives okay motor seems to stumble slightly between 3000-4000 rpms. with car stopped in park try to rev motor will only go between 3200-4000...

Hi Tom your vehicle is equipped with a Rev limiter it will not allow you to rev the engine above 4000 with the trans in park; as for the first problem you may have one of two things, one of the spark plugs or spark plug wires is bad or you have a flat spot on the throttle positioning sensor in which case have be replaced. Good luck?

Idle Rev Limit in 3.5L engine

yes this is normal. most newer cars are equipped with rev limiters so people cant over rev the engines without a load on it. the shaking is from the computer cutting off the ignition repeatedly when you reach the max rpm.

no the code is most likely from a dpfe sensor for you egr system not the egr valve itself.a clogged fuel filter though might cause your low revs
