Call some auto parts store until you find one that has a free loaner meter to read the error codes. You can get the codes and determine what wrong.

Try calling Advance Auto, AutoZone e.g.

The best thing to do is take it to the Toyota dealer, they have the proper test equipment to work on your car, outside shops just guess and waste your time and money in many cases.

If the "evap not ready" readiness monitor never clears and you keep getting P0440,P0441,P0446 type codes, then you have a problem with the evap system. You have already tried the gas cap (good start) but there are about 6 other things it can be from electrical VSV air valves (there are 3 of them, 2 under the hood, 1 near the charcoal cannister (behind fuel tank) to 2 air operated valves on the front of the same cannister. There is also an air line that goes to one of the electric VSV valves on the air cleaner under the hood. Several oil change places have been guilty of pullling these off and not reconnecting them.

My 2001 Sienna shakes when I apply the brake. I don't know the problem. It passed inspection so I am assuming it's not the brake. Please advise.

The car isn't driven when inspected

Your only choice is to recall, if you had the
brakes apart every year, to clean off rust,
inspect, lube & if necessary machine or replace

You can not drive year after year & not have
braking issues.

Some times the work you pay for isn't done
correctly & they put issues in there.

Never assume anything in life

Always inspect or test things,& trust no one

Idle up and down.. have changed 0-2 sensors and mass air flow andthrotle position sensor but still has problem and wont pass inspection.. said cat converter not ready

sounds like the IAC (idle air control valve) or possibly a vaccum leak. As far as the cat. converter not ready, the vehicle must be driven a certain distance or go through a certain amount of drive cycles for all the systems to be monitered. Most of the time i just take the vehicle for a 50 mile drive on the freeway and that usually does it.

Service code of P420 on Toyota Sienna.

Hi my name is Juan and if you can wait one more day I am at work and I don't have my book with all the codes and once I get to it I can give you more recommendations but don't thrush what the dealer say they like to do this because they do thing that most of the costumers don't know nothing about cars and most people make this big mistake in say yes ok and let them do the repairs sometimes they tell costumers that there vehicles have 2 or more problems and this is not true sometimes is just a loose wire and they charge hundreds of dollars but they never tell you oh it was just a loose wire is 30dls so if you really need a cat-- replacement take your car to a muffler shop they can also do this job and for a lot lot less they charge around 300 to 400 hundred dls for this thanks and I'll let you know your code tomorrow
