1999 Kia Sportage overheating issue

I have a 1999 Kia Sportage. Guage keeps going to hot. I have changed the thermostat, clutch fan, burped the motor, and it still goes to hot when you first start driving before the thermostat kicks in and the temperature goes back down. I have not driven a long distance so don't know how it would do, too worried it will overheat. What to do?

REPLACE RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP AND CHECK THE COOLING FAN CLUTCH.WHEN YOUR ENGINE HOT WHEN YOU TRY TURNING CLUTCH FAN WITH YOUR HAND WHEN ENGINE IS HOT.THERE SHOULD BE RESISTANCE IN THE FAN.IF CLUTCH FAN SPINS FREELY WHILE ENGINE HOT.YOU NEED TO REMOVE COOLING FAN TO REPLACE CLUTCH.

My Kia spotage get hot when setting still

you might need to replace the fan clutch or your thermostat. The fan may not be spinning hard enough to cool the motor or spinning at all, lift the hood turn the car on and see if the fan is coming on.

I have a 1997 kia overheating i have removed the thermostat

You have to install a new Thermostat because if the motor has no water pump thermostat sends all the coolant to the radiator and therefore the engine never warmed and you will not have heat because the coolant never be heated

2002 kia sportage temp gauge runs hot while driving

Cheak to see that the coolant fan is operating with the A/C turned on. The fan has to work to help the engine stay cool and help the A/C. When you apply heat on the control it acts to reduce the coolant temp. You will have to get the coolant fan operation checked. This can be :fan motor, fan relay, temp sensor and computer. Good luck

Overheating

the situation you describe is an air pocket. you need to raise the front of the vehicle turn the heat on full blast. open the radiator cap, while cold of course, and add coolant until you see not more air bubbles coming out of the filler neck.
